    Hi,

I'm thinking of popping up to the Belfast store to pick out an amp and speaker (was looking at Monitor BX2s previously) combo for my turntable. Any special deals that would entice me up? I would also be interesting in a radio (DAB) and /or CD unit but that really depends on overall cost.

Thanks and a Happy New year to all you guys,

    Shane

    Shane,

many thanks for the post and apologies for the delay getting back to you - the BX2 are a really stunning speaker!

Here are a few options for you at different price ranges all with some decent Boardie deals..

Monitor Audio BX2 / Cambridge Audio Topaz AM5
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/amplifiers-receivers/cambridge-audio/topaz-am5/camb-topaz-am5-blk

A really basic amp in terms of features, but brilliant performance, just 25 Watts but it can control and drive even the most difficult to drive speakers - very little to touch it at this price range. ( no phono stage for your turntable!)

The BX2 / AM5 combo is normally £369.90 - we can do them together at £269.95

    Next up would be:
    Monitor Audio BX2 / Denon PMA720Ae
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/amplifiers-receivers/denon/pma720ae/deno-pma720-blk

This Denon is a real powerhouse and comes with some of the basic essentials but again no flashing lights or frills!
In terms of features, the PMA720 is comprehensively kitted out. There's a stereo pre-amp output to enable the use of active speakers, sub or a separate power amplifier. The four line level inputs are complemented by a recording loop, making a total of five line level inputs. In addition to this, the Denon PMA-720AE boasts an MM phono input for your turntable - a more unusual input these days. Two sets of speaker outputs allow you to have music in another room whilst the headphone socket is ideal for private listening.

The BX2 / PMA720ae combo is normally £449.90 - we can do them together at £379.95

Next option would be the Stunning Roksan K2 amp - a bit of a jump up in price - but a huge step up in quality - this beast has a really good quality MM phono input built in and Roksan have speced the Kandy K2 to perform as well as other amps costing twice as much. If that sounds a little boastful, a demo will convince you otherwise!  New op-amps help give the Kandy K2 a sense of realism that rival amps at this price range find hard to match. The quality mains power supply is also positioned as far away from the pre-amp as possible, dramatically reducing noise interference. Optimising both power supplies and circuit layout has also reaped rewards in terms of sound quality. The Kandy K2 manages that rare trick of sounding both smooth and refined but also powerful and dynamic when required.

Unique to Roksan, the RMX111 programmable learning remote lets you take control of not just the amp but also your entire hi-fi system. Simple computer set-up makes programming easy and it's compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems.

The BX2 / Roksan K2 combo is normally £1069.90 - we can do them together at £849.95

On the DAB radio - if you want to add this to the separates system, then unfortubately there is only a limited choice as so many tuners have gone web based - we have the TIBO DAB420 at just £99.95 but stock is super tight: http://www.richersounds.com/product/tuners/tibo/dab420/tibo-dab420

Next up would be the Teac excellent TR650Dab at £139.95 http://www.richersounds.com/product/tuners/teac/tr650dab/teac-tr650dab or if you wanted an excellent deal on a super DAB / FM unit then I'd highly recommend the Cambridge Audio 651T at £299.95 - it really is a well specced, top quality tuner ( like in the old days!) http://www.richersounds.com/product/tuners/cambridge-audio/azur-651t/camb-651t-blk

What Turntable have you got? Just check to be sure that it has a phono step-up transformer if you are not adding it to an amp that already has phono inputs..

Thanks again and keep us posted if we can help in any way, and of course if you would like to have a demo, we can book the demo room for you no problem at any time to suit you.

    Hi guys,

thanks for getting back to me.  the record player is a reag RP1 (got it as a gift). So was looking at something around the price of the The BX2 / PMA720ae you quoted above. I'd be on for spending a bit more to get a CD or DAB receiver but my budget is probably maxing out at £430 or so. Any thoughts. I'll be up in two weeks time, so would be looking to take the units off your hands from your shop. Hi hope you can sort me out.

    Hi Shane,

Thanks for getting back to us :)

The deal John gave you on the BX2s and PMA720

Unfortunately there wouldn't be much that would offer both CD and DAB.  You'd be looking at a seperate CD and tuner to go with the system.  The matching CD player would be the DCD720 currently priced at £169.95:

    http://www.richersounds.com/product/cd-players/denon/dcd720ae/deno-dcd720-blk

At the moment we're out of stock but hopefully we'll have some more back in.

On the tuner front check out the Teac TR650.  These are running thin but I have a very small number left at £139.00.  Check the link below for more info:

Hopefully we'll be able to help you walk away with a nice system :)
