Another idea for you all that I've often done before. (And it does work.)

Collect all those empty metal ( obviously ) biscuit tins, If you come across any old flat plate oil boiler, Warmflow, Heatflame, Myson + more. Put a biscuit tin between baffle plates in the centre.
This helps to keep the hot flue gasses pressed up close to the boiler walls rather than been wasted in the middle of the plate where there is no heat transfer to the water in the boiler walls.

Simular idea as the Grant Euroflame baffles.

Happy New Year to you all :)

Are you sure you are not carrying this too far Scudo:). Do you not think the manufacturers have tried all of this to get the most of of their boilers. How long would a biscuit tin lid last for if the hot gasses are circulating properly. I think it would heat up and float around like a leaf in there causing all sorts of problems.
Anyway a mean lot of customers around here. Didn't even get one box of biscuits from any of them. They are all going to be loosing 1 percent efficiency in the new year. That'll teach them to be so mean at Christmas. BTW Happy New year Scudo and keep posting.

Well I do suppose the Sloe Gin was nice. The few pints left in the local went down well also.
Thanks for the wake-up call you Ghost of Christmas Past.

Please tell me this is a p1ss take.
If it is, just remember this is a public forum that many DIY'ers may very attempt the advice given.

If it is not a p1ss take, my comments may well cause a major argument to end 2013, so I will let you guess the words..... just for peace sake.

    Hmmm....
