    hi

just wondering if you set a phone to request the pin code when starting

is that security saved to the phone or the sim?

if someone puts the sim in another phone can they bypass the request?

    thanks

You can have a pin set on the SIM and also a pin set on the phone.

If it's a phone pin (security pin on the phone), then no matter what SIM you put in, the phone will require that pin.

If it's a SIM pin, then the pin is only required for that SIM.

    im confused on this now?

i have a pin code set in security>sim card lock and it works fine when i start phone

is that a phone pin then?

and wheres the option for setting a sim pin? is that somewhere else?

If it's the pin required on boot of the phone, then it's most likely the SIM pin code.

If you need a pin to unlock your screen on the phone, then it's a phone pin.

Check your phone manual on how to set a pin (either sim or phone).

    yes
I think I have it now

the phone pin is for getting out of the lock screen

the SIM pin is at startup
