Just asking on the off chance someone found a phone last night in town.

Asking for a friend who lost his phone and doesnt know where. I know alot of help.

Just in case a hackney or taxi driver reads this. They got the taxi to Spiddal.

Its useless to whoever finds it, so just asking here anyway.

What type phone? Did you check with club and taxi office(s)?
Did you try the "find my phone" app?

    Samsung s4.

Taxi companies rang. Most of the night time drivers aren't in yet.

And not sure how that find my phone app would work after losing the phone.

It might seem obvious, but it's not mentioned, has your friend tried ringing the 'phone?. Assuming it was switched on when he/she lost it.

Tell him to check his dropbox account if he has that linked to his phone. Lots of people upload have their phone set to upload all their photos automatically and for some reason people who find/steal photos often take photos.Might give you some hints.

You can install some find my phone apps remotely after its been stolen. Google it, there are plenty of apps that do it.

Samsung use the Android operating system so the friend can install "Plan B" remotely which will track the phone (if it's on).

If your friend has android device manager enabled and location services turned on the phone can be found using the android device manager which is part of Google Play Services from jelly Bean onwards.

    https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager

For anyone else who wants this feature just go to Settings > Security > Device administrators and enable Android Device Manager.
