I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread related to the weather expected for the week/end ahead. Starting with the general forecast and any additional information that people have pertinent to upland areas and any "after" reports people have about how comfortable they were, how their kit held up etc.

ok, its Wicklow for me and planning to go camping Friday night at ~500mtrs near Glendalough and a day hike Saturday. So far it looks like Friday night and most of Saturday looks clear and the general night temperature looks to be in the ~2C range so I guess maybe ~3C lower at height (subject to change, its only Wednesday). Sunday might have some rain.

As an experiment I'll be bringing a poncho as a tarp combined with walking poles to make a small A Frame, poncho will double as rain gear if there are any showers. The spots I have in mind should be sheltered enough from the wind.

Evelyn C. just mentioned that the wind storms have basically come to an end.
Tempted to do an overnighter then.

dang it lost all my posts yesterday. Firstly here was the view from Camaderry near Glendalough on Saturday morning. Forecast was more or less in line though did get rained on before I'd setup camp and there was an overnight shower. temp was around 3C at 250mtrs but there was a wind chill to take into account. A few tweaks for next time, bigger flash light in case having to walk in the dark being the main one.
