Gareth A Davies nominated for Journalist of the year. Whoever picked that is clueless, he is an idiot and highly annoying. Helwani nominated as well, I used to like him but now I think he is an idiot.

Anything below Referee of the Year I tend not to take too seriously.

The fighter of the year is interesting as Belfort should get it but he always has that asterix beside his name. Faber should be a good shout having four solid wins in 2013.

Home town allegiance aside, Nurmagomedov should get Breakthrough Fighter of the Year

For what it's worth here's my input.

Charles ‘Mask’ Lewis Fighter of the Year
As said above, Belfort has had a phenom-enal (get it?) year but he may be bringing too much controversy with it. Faber has looked solid in all four of his 2013 bouts so would be my outside pick followed up with three title defences by Demetrious Johnson.

    Female Fighter of the Year
There's no doubting that Rousey defended her title twice in outstanding fashion but I think I'll mix it up and give it to Holly Holm for four MMA wins (and one boxing) in 2013, three of which were KOs.

    Fight of the Year
I can't choose between Chandler vs. Alvarez or Jones vs. Gustaffson. Both were razor thin close decisions and both had high level action in all areas of the MMA game.

    Knockout of the Year
Belfort's KO of Rockhold was beautiful to watch but it has to be the holy sh*t moment that was Weidman vs. Silva.

    Submission of the Year
Two flying armbars in this category by Fontaine and Namajunas. Both were spectacular finishes and I think I may be a little more than in love with Rose but the shear originality of Robertson's submission really impressed me, so gets my vote. Outsider bet would be Burkman showing that Fitch is a mere mortal when it comes to subs.

    Comeback of the Year
This time last year I would never have said that Robbie Lawler would drop to WW, beat both Josh Koscheck and Rory MacDonald and then be fighting for a title. Here's to more surprises by 'Ruthless'.

Shawn Tompkins Coach of the Year
It's good to see Ray Longo finally get the recognition he deserves and Henry Hooft has done a great job since joining Blackzilians but I have to give it to Duane Ludwig for the impressive organisation he's devised at Team Alpha Male.

They might as well just call it the UFC Awards and get it over with.

By a mile, going straight to the top this lad
be fighting for the title in a year I reckon

    International Fighter of the Year
    4. Khabib Nurmagomedov

Fight of the Year too hard to pick from that lot
    maybe chandler alvarez

    2. Michael Chandler vs. Eddie Alvarez II (Bellator 106)
    3. Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson (UFC 165)
    4. Gilbert Melendez vs. Diego Sanchez (UFC 166)
    5. Mark Hunt vs. Antonio Silva (UFC Fight Night 33)

    Knockout of the Year
    5. Chris Weidman (vs. Anderson Silva, UFC 162)
Just for the sheer shock of it

    Submission of the Year
    2. Josh Burkman (vs. Jon Fitch, WSOF 3)
didnt think it was possibly to submit that fcuker

    Comeback of the Year
    3. Robbie Lawler (career)
comeback of the century, just amazing
if someone told you a couple of years ago lawlor would
be fighting for the belt now...i'd have thought they were insane

Shawn Tompkins Coach of the Year
    2. Duane Ludwig

    Referee of the Year
    1. Herb Dean

Should be one for worst referee of the year
