Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey all!

Heading to Madrid and Morocco Thursday week with my boyfriend! Madrid for 3 nights and then onto Morocco for 3 nights also.

The only plans we have for Madrid so far is seeing Atletico v Barcelona, so we have the football match sorted! Anything else that would be worth doing? we haven't booked accommodation either so any recommendations would be great, cheap hotel or hostel would be preferable!!

Morocco is where we have no idea what to do! We haven't booked accom here either so recommendations are really appreciated again! We've considered tours to Sahara and Atlas mountains and to other cities that are close by.

Really appreciate any info anybody has, thanks in advance :)

There's a ton of museums if you're into that: El Prado has the classical paintings like Goya, La Reina Sofia has more modern stuff like Picasso, there's also a Botanical Garden, and a wax museum.
You can just walk Madrid, which is something I really like. From Atocha train station ,which is worth a look, up Paseo del Prado or go to the Parque del Retiro park. It's a huge park with many walks, boat rides, etc...
End of Paseo del Prado you'll see Neptune statue at the roundabout, and either up toward Cibeles roundabout and towards Gran Via or cut across to Puerta del Sol and see the 0km mark. The Plaza Mayor is just a stone's throw away from there. There's often things on in the plaza. Have a thick hot chocolate and churros at one of the small local bars, best in the mornings. Walk up the large pedestrian street from Puerta del Sol to Gran Via and onto the Plaza de Espanya where they have a statue to Cervantes/Don Quixote. From here you're close to the Royal Palace.
If you're there on a Sunday go to the Rastro, it's a huge market where you can buy almost anything. Great for picking up souvenirs.
