I was hoping to get stuff done before I head off....zero motivation and bags of tea means this has not been achieved :(

Have fun in Chicago and Vegas, Dags. I liked walking around Chicago. Did a boat architectural tour and bike thing, fun. Used the L, too.

Rain meant double bill at the cinema today. Lucy and Gone Girl, preferred the latter, but enjoyed both.

Doing a short photography course for next month.

Weather's about to take a turn this evening. How's everyone's weekend been?

Put on 7lb in a 3 week period lads. Serious weight gain that. Just goes to show how easy it is when you've a few heavy weekends on the Guinness and eat out a lot as I was away for a week.

Might go low carb for a few weeks and see how that goes.

    Hello chaps.

I'm looking for suggestions for my stag.

It's going to be late April or early May next year.

I was initially thinkin Ibiza for 3 nights but flights are pricey. I don't want to put people to too much expense so decent cities in continental Europe suggestions would be appreciated!

    Prague's got a sex museum.
    And its horrifying.
    And a bit shyt.

    Prague's good though.

Yeah Prague is a good spot. Decent/cheap beer.

Can be a bit sleazy and parts are seriously rough. I'd be wary of walking up the wrong street in the wee hours of the morning on my own tbh.

Granted this was on a day when there was hardly a cloud in the sky, but one of the lads said to me a couple of years ago that "a bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work".

    He wasn't wrong.

Saw a vid on FB via friends pages of a few lads with their outdoor pool and stuff in Texas - I'm assuming you're in it...in which case - paint me jelly :(

How're you getting on over there man?

I miss the cheap shopping :( Did serious damage in Penguin!

Ha, that's gas. The one with the Drive soundtrack and house tour? Guy who did it is one of my best mates. Another BIS head :D

Getting on pretty good, but still waiting to hear back from a few interviews. Austin is a pretty sweet city though, loving it already.

Would Stateside not be too far to travel and a bit pricey for 3 nights?

Another closer suggestion is Liverpool. Heard it is a good party town and not too far from Manchester so you could take in a United match on the weekend.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,846 ✭✭✭✭Liam McPoyle

Vegas would be pushing it Im afraid, plus burd and I are there for 4 nights for part of the honeymoon anyway.

We have narrowed it down between Riga and Prague I think though I do have a mate working on it and he is yet to make his proposal.

Just so we're clear I was joking about going to Vegas and Chicago for a stag - it's 8 hours to Chicago and a further 4 to Vegas ...I need another holiday after it :pac:

Also I watched Transformers 4 on the way out as it was the longest movie available...it made the 8 hours longer, I can't describe how utterly terrible it was

Any recommendations for activities in Vegas D'ags?

It goes without saying, as burd will be in tow I mean PG13 activities.

    ;)

Random question: When wearing a shirt with 2 buttons on each cuff, do you fasten the cuff using the closest button or the furthest button? Always wondered why the option was there.

We had a relaxed enough trip in fairness, had a great last day, got all you can eat breakfast at the Wynn which was amazing then got the helicoptor ride over the grand canyon which was pricey but we had a great day for it and deemed it worthy as it's a once in a lifetime thing to do, had ribs in the hard rock after that - gigantic portion which I was stuffed after then went back, chilled in the hotel, showered and hit a rooftop bar in the palms - 50 odd floors up, great music playing, sipping G&Ts because it was still warm at night with a great view over Vegas lit up.

But today....today I mainly sat at my desk doing work :(:pac:

I think Ive decided on Madrid as it happens.

Cheap flights and accommodation, loads of bars and clubs, bull fighting is available that weekend too, though alas Real are away that weekend but Athleti are at home so thats another option.

Was looking to head over start of November when the Champions League draw was announced - couldn't get over how cheap flights were

Figured I couldn't afford it so soon after the US trip which has turned out to be 100% correct but I'm still hoping to head over for a few days sometime soon

On the subject of fat/thin wrists and shirt cuffs, I've noticed that casual shirts anyway have been getting smaller in the wrist and I say that as a bloke with very small wrists, twiglets even(6.5 inch around). I'd be a minority and if I'm noticing it...

Would the cuffs not be measured relative to the neck. So if have a fat neck, pretty good chance would have fat wrists. Just find it strange. Ah not losing sleep over it

Oh and only other watch nutters ever notice a nice/cool/expensive watch.

*in fairness I've rarely paid more than 100-200 quid for any of them and the most I ever paid was 1400 quid and I needed many stiff drinks after that one. Still I'd get two grand for it today in an easy sale so not too bad.

Oh wow! I was in Russia for my last trip and it was somewhat unwelcoming. Any recommendations?

I was mostly in Hokkaido which is the northern district. So it was really nice, very foresty (wild bears and all) but rural, it's farm country up there.

I was supposed to be in Tokyo for a few days but my flight there was delayed by a hurricane :( so I didn't get to spend long there! The imperial palace was amazing. I liked the meiji shrine too. I was there before the skytree was built but apparently it's nice!

And if you find one? Go to Moss Burger, I loved that place :D
