Got Bombay Sapphire in the end as I didn't recognise anything else in the duty free.

Also lost my boarding pass because I took it out to buy the duty free :(
Luckily Mrs had copies on her phone. I was expecting a charge from Ryan Air for not having one.

Nope, in north Spain.
But same story. Airport on high ground, near the coast. Add a mad storm, you get people puking all over the airplane....

But in other news, I can buy here wine and spirits for half price it would be in Dublin :D

Chateau Les Mauberts is a decent bordeaux for €9 and in most Tescos.

Another to look for is Casillero Del Diablo Reserva Privada, €10 in Tesco and is very easy to drink.

If you like Spanish Rioja, try the Campo Viejo Reserva. There is a 2014 in Tesco for €12 a bottle and it's decent. They also do a Tempranillo for around €10 a bottle which is also nice.

To stretch the budget a bit, Tesco finest Barolo is very nice, but €20 a bottle is a bit steep for some.

If there is a Wine buff shop near you, try La Fauconnaire from St Emilion, again about €22 a bottle but a very decent Bordeaux.

First day back at work for 3 weeks. Had the crap kicked out of me all night by a 3 year old girl so barely got a wink of sleep, missed my train by 30 secs and the office is f f f freezing.

Other than that everything is peachy

All good so far. Not back in the office until Monday and the work mobile has been turned off since the 24th, kinda dreading to turn it back on tbh.

But had a decent relaxing Xmas with no major drama so it shouldn't be too much of a shock to the system to get back to a normal routine and a dry January. Even though I took it handy, a fair few drinks were consumed so my liver and wallet will be thankful.

Any resolutions broken yet guys?

Trying to kick this depression that's come into the picture (not seasonal related). Not back until Monday, but I had a look at work's Twitter anyway.

The photos from the fires in Australia are staggering.

Must say I always find Christmas unbelievably hectic - zero chance to relax at all between kids, relations etc. Am usually glad to go back to work as it's a bloody break! Was due to go back yesterday but didn't bother in the end - stepping in Monday instead. Was due to start off easy with a short week to go to a gig in London next Friday but it's been cancelled - probably a good thing after all the drink over Christmas......

You're automatically in the running for uncle of the year so!
First seen slipknot in Cardiff a good 15yrs ago. On me tobler in the mosh pit. Absolutely mayhem. Slayer hatebreed and mastodon all on the lineup. What a night.
Also seen em support Metallica a few years back. Sound was rubbish though.
And again with korn 5yrs ago. But I was very, very drunk!
Ao now it's time to hang up the oul boots and go to see em sitting down. Thst said I'll hear People =Shyt and probably fall straight off the balcony!

I remember the gig in 2015, being stuck in the seats, it was the weirdest experience I'd had at a gig.

Coincidentally, Slipknot are coming back to Dublin 5 years to the day since they were last here.

I brought him to Metallica in Twickenham last year which was his first ever concert and we are going to Ozzy in London in October too (assuming the gig finally goes ahead).

Cahersiveen in Kerry is sometimes referred to as Cahersiberia so this is somewhat accurate

Didn't have a beverage this weekend. It's a strange new world! Annual attempt to understand rugby is also back underway!

Heard England lost but actually never heard about Ireland!!! Did we win?

Just checked. Yay go us

How do you get a bonus point? England and Scotland both got one but Ireland or France didn't. Or did they get 1 and Wales got 2??

I've to be careful in work as 1 of the lads represented England in the ruggers. He'll see through my BS!
I think you'd need a degree in maths to figure out the bonus points system.
But woo we won!

That's the problem with Ireland - they always try to walk it over the line

It's a pretty easy game to understand.

But here's a comprehensive explanation of the rules https://deadspin.com/the-complete-guide-to-understanding-rugby-1796388722

The bonus point is gained if you score 4 tries or more in the game. Even if you lose, you can still get a bonus point by scoring 4 points and losing by less than 7 points.

Makes the game more interesting and all to play for.

Just back from a stag do in Kilkenny. Cool spot but yet another of the lads is getting married meaning I have four weddings this year.

Busy enough but no complaints. Packed in the masters and took the post grad diploma so I've had more time to myself to relax and meet friends so it's been really nice. Lining up the next project now though as I need some bit of a regiment to keep me on the rails.

Kilkenny's a great spot in fairness. Have a stag in Berlin this year, with the wedding in Spain....thankfully I've only one more wedding to attend this year as I'll be broke from those excursions

Will need a week off later in the year to (hopefully) move into a new house as I'm sale agreed on a place so I've been looking into smartbulbs/thermostats etc. for the last while and looking up interior design shíte on pinterest

Yeah I think a lot of people saw it and didn't fúckin respond :D There's no digital display for the heating it's just three of those old school pin-based timer yokes so I want that stuff gooooone and the Nest/other solutions seem handy.

I'm happy out with it and I enjoy that kind of stuff, figuring out how to setup the kitchen and what colors to use etc. just a case of the auctioneer confirming some stuff is fixed but other than that its ready to walk in.
