Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ideal are the most basic boiler there is . Bosch are quality although there's a few lads here don't like the telescopic flues.

Bosch , ariston , or viessmann are your best options. Viessmann being the top dog but expect to pay about €400 more than the others.

Because on the logic, once it's on it's simply an A rated modulating boiler. Nothing wrong with that, just very basic. Compared to Ariston, there are numerous different ways to set up the boiler. You can adjust maximum output, pump speed, delta T. And lots lots more

To be fair, there is not much adjustment to be made on most other boilers including the Viessmann & the WB. Even the Baxi, you can only sit whistling at it!

    That's true. I shouldn't be picking on ideal :(

Never used fitted an Ideal but was told they are most popular in England .
Having Fitted and fixed Vokera Glowworm and Worcester for years these are my favorites and find most reliable.
Baxi are cheaper but seem to come across most problems with them.
    How I see it .
My house id fit a Vokera .so easy to work on (except expansion vessel)

Vokera is a great little boiler, but not just the expansion vessel, more so the side entry heat exchanger on the Mynute for servicing. A right pain in the ass.
I used to fit nothing but Vokera but the reason I dropped them was due them robbing all my services the year after. Asked them to stop, they said no, I said bye, now I knick all theirs!

I've found vokeras give alot of small problems.
Baxi seem to be a heap. Council only fit them cos there cheap. And I think they've switched to ideal

    I love the Worcester myself

Sorry to hijack, but I see a Dublin plumbing guy advertising an Ideal Logic 18 boiler (listed at 91%eff), with a chemical flush, fitted, for €1500. With grant that's around €1000 total cost...appears good value to me as someone not in the know. Any comments on this deal from yee would be appreciated.

parents have a viessman combi fitted about a year and are very happy with it,so quiet...I had a baxi in my previous house and have to say heard a lot negative comments about them but mine was in 4 years or so and hadn't a problem at that stage..another member of family has glowworm and is very happy only thing about their model is im nearly sure it shuts off under half bar water pressure and his area used to have very poor pressure so just to be careful regarding that..

1500 is very cheap there could be hidden costs or else its from 1500 a chemical flush is not mmuch use but a good sales thing to say and you would have to spend alot more than 1500 to get a grant more like 3000 and you get 610 back
