Broadband problem when using PS4

My PS4 is working grand and I can play online no problem, but when I download a anything through in it the rest of my devices at home can't connect to the internet. I noticed this first when I downloaded Resogun and Contrast. Yesterday I downloaded Blacklight and while it was downloading I couldn't connect to the net at all on any device. I don't have this problem when using Steam or the PS3, has anyone else had this happen and how did they fix it?
My internet is Eircom NGB 24meg and these are the results I get from speedtest.net.

By any chance is your PS4 in the DMZ? You would have had to intentionally put it there. The reason I ask is I had the same issue with the PS3 when I put it in the DMZ, clearly I messed up somewhere.

What you might try doing it just reconfiguring your connection - and seeing if that makes a difference, there is no reason when normally connected that this should be happening unless there is some setting on your router that is dedicating this connection above all others, but that is beyond my knowledge.

The only thing I did was to change the nat type from type 3 to type 1, like I did with my PS3. Did this need to be done & would this cause the problem? It's a netopia router.

Nat 2 is fine I believe. I only ever achieved NAT1 when I put it in the DMZ - not sure if you did that - and this is when I had my issue.
See about following the guide here for NAT2 - hopefully that will sort it out for you. Again not 100% sure on this but if it is in the DMZ you might be seeing the issue I had... :(

Thanks for the help, I could never get NAT 2 working before, I don't know if it can be done with the Eircom Netopia Router. If anyone wants to let me know how it can be done let me know.:)

There's no direct way to change the NAT type on the Netopia routers. I'd to a full reset on it to undo any changes you made (reset pinhole on the back) and start from scratch, checking to see if the problem is there while the modem is using factory settings.
