    hi another question here..

I was checking on the fruit juices in Supervalu looking for artificial preservative

they didn't seem to specify whether they contained it..

what exactly do you need to check on the label to be sure? thanks

They nearly all contain ascorbic acid (vitamin c) to prevent oxidation. Most of them don't bother with other preservatives as they're pasteurised.

Read all over for small print. I think sulphites might have to be listed by law as a recognised allergen.

Just looking on tesco there I see pressed grape juice for just €1.27 for 1.5L, which is 85cent a litre.

Never heard of the brand, it might be one of te new tesco ones which are not blatantly tesco.

    EDIT:
    http://www.fsai.ie/faq/allergens.html#sulphites
When and how should sulphites be declared on a food label?

Sulphur dioxide and sulphites must appear on the label under their chemical names e.g. sodium metabisulphite, where present at levels exceeding 10mg/kg or 10mg/l, expressed as SO2. Labelling the category and the additive number is not sufficient. Therefore, it is not enough to label as preservative: E223.
