Sync Ipod to itunes

Hi all a little help needed here please,my daughter got a used ipod with music on it,she wants to keep this music and add more to it so my question is how do I sync her ipod to itunes without losing the music that's all ready on The iPod.thanks in advance and a happy new year to you all

Can you tell us which iPod you're referring to? Is it the iPod classic, iPod Touch?

I'm pretty sure it can only be done the other way around (i.e. sync from songs in iTunes to iPod only, not iPod to iTunes). But there are programs for your computer that can copy the songs from iPod to the computer. Then you can add the songs in iTunes and sync them back to the iPod.
