An odd oul request here lads and lassies, but just wondering do any of you know where you could buy just a regular money box or tin to put your spare change and the likes into?

Been looking for weeks now to find one for me niece and nephew to get them saving for their holidays.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can buy lockable cash boxes (with a key) in Eason's stationary section is that's what you're looking for.

Dealz or most of the 2 euro shops do the money tins that you have to use a tin opener to open.

Ulster bank used to give out nice hippo lockable ones like 10 year ago. I don't know if they still do it

More like 25 years ago. They brought them back more recently but in both cases you needed to open a bank account.

Looked in every 2 euro shop in the North inner-city but couldn't find one.

Suppose the kids will be using the leftover Kimberly tins to save now...

Arnotts bargain shop have some, they have ceramic money boxes as well as tin ones - the ceramic ones have a stopper so they are re-usable. The bargain shop is in the basement of Arnotts.

Dunnes and Penneys also sometimes have them in the homeware section.

Otherwise you could help them make some - customise a couple of tins / big jars.

There's a euro discount store in the ILAC beside the Moore Street doors that have them
