    I admit my submissions lack artistry, but if I'm honest these are scenes that I still think about.

    - The final scene (Captain Phillips;
    the medical check-up where he breaks down was so powerful, so horribly raw it still sticks in the memory and I'm at a loss as to how it was 'acted'
    )
    - The opening scene (Gravity. Just for its technical prowess and graceful beauty)
    - Storage Locker paranoia (Riddick. It's a stupid, flawed film, but this one scene almost redeemed the middle-act with a palpably tense stand-off between a set of mercs. Considering what came before and after I suspect it was a fluke)
    - The Hong Kong battle (Pacific Rim. I appreciate for many it was flawed, even poor; but this battle scene felt like an affirmation that old-school, blockbuster action was still possible. You don't always need quick-cuts & crash zooms and here's why)
