Been looking around for the past few months for a good tape cassette duplicator to aid in a experimental project I've been working on but for the life of me cant seem to find any inside Europe. Has anyone been in the market for similar of late and if so how did it go?

    Thanks

Hey, in the market myself, was wondering if you had any luck?

Have you puts the words twin cassette into Adverts.ie ?

What do you mean by "good"?

I can tell if you're all trying to be helpful or just smart ? :)

What I and the OP are looking for are duplicators which do anything from copying 1 to 1 cassette up to copying 1 to 16 cassettes in one go and even more...it copies them in anything from real time to both sides of a c-90 in about 15 secs and rewinds them...boom!

Yes, we know what twin cassette recorders are and if one was to go that route and record 100 or more c-90s that way, one at a time in real time one would probably want to bang ones head off a brick wall by time cassette 6 or 7 was finished.... :)

    Your OP was vague.
    try these: http://www.recordexusa.com/tapecopiers.html

if you're releasing over 100 then a plant w/ bin loop duplication is probably the way to go

Simply going out and typing "tape duplicator" into google and posting the first result is not helpful. it's 2014 and I think you can safely assume someone with a specific request looking for a specialised piece of hardware has already done so.

My bad. Of course you are right. I have no inside information on this topic, though perhaps a pressing plant that produces cassettes or your nearest AES contact might have pertinent information on this niche topic.

Vague questions get vague answers. He wanted a tape copier for an experiment. I gave link to take copiers.

This is less like a tape copier, and more like an industry tape replication machine, like this one.

If you are looking to mass produce tapes, let me know, and I'll ask bands I know who have recently gotten tapes pressed for their band.

Nothing vague at all about the question, the chap(or lady) said "Been looking around for the past few months for a good tape cassette duplicator". No mention of tape copier, twin cassette, radio with a set of tape decks or any other such item, just asked for "tape cassette duplicator".

You are spot on, it is nothing like a tape copier and is infact exactly what the op and I where looking for, a cassette duplicator. (in my case in stereo not mono and within europe)

Thanks, but I have a cassette duplicator myself (in mono unfortunately) and I've used manufacturing companies also in the past for some of my own releases, all I and OP where wondering was are there anywhere selling such units in Europe. As stated in the OP.

From reading sites, it doesn't look like it. Most of the garbage on ebay is 2nd hand stuff, and even if you get them repaired, they still won't be that good, and fairly bad for high speed recording.

I had a look at this from another angle, and although computer tapes and audio tape systems are very different, I was wondering if there be any companies that made both? If said data tape drive manufacturer was around, they may still have some audio tape drives somewhere. A bit of a long shot, I admit.

    All,
Im late to the game with this post but i have an Otari DP 8 bought from AandC audio services maybe 15 years ago. Only about thousand copies made, still in original packing.
If anyone is still interested let me know I could do with moving it on.
