Game over, clare won by 5:19 to 1:25 great game. Flukey goal in extra was the difference.

Possibly should have won it in full time. Couple of bad mistakes cost us. Clare's extra fitness and workrate won out in the end. Tony Kelly must be the fittest man in Ireland.

you cant beat luck really , the tony kelly shot that struck the post for the 4th goal was a pure fluke and changed the game in our direction

we should have been punished in normal time when bobby duggen had a free 25 yards out and went for a goal when there was only one point in it and only a few mins to go, the sending off was also harsh, we messed around with the ball as well and got caught several times on the score board for it , and had a couple of them wides near the end been converted the score line could have looked alot different ,

What was harsh about the sending off? Totally fair call
Some lucky goals but we weren't good enough. Clare's senior experience etc showed

i know rules are rules but in fairness all the tipp player did was no more then push his hurl into the clare player, it was during a bit of afters because the ref and the lines man could'nt make the right call initially , there were probably worse hits through out the game

But as you say rules are rules. It was afters and it was stupid and reckless and deserved punishment. There was worse legal hits during the game and worse hits but the ref penalised that one. Don't think there should be any complaints about a fair call

Clare had all the luck tonight,Liam Mc Grath and John Meagher were big losses for us,if we had both of them in extra time we might have done better, all is not bad though,we had some impressive players who will hopefully make the step up in the near future.

harsh to lose by six in the end and the sending off was also harsh in my eyes. Some tipp free taking was awry when badly needed. All in all a good game and Tipp gave a good account after letting in two early goals and could have/ should have won it in normal time.Hard luck boys.

Free taking was poor at times but while we were unlucky enough. Clare's slight bit more senior experience etc showed in the end.

Well he hardly sent the Clare man away in an ambulance, barely tipped him and the Clare man barely reacted.
Yes, he shouldn't have done it but wasn't the worst you would see.

A player doesn't have to be badly injured for a slap/tackle/dig(whatever is appropriate for incident in question) to warrant a sending off and yes there has been worse incidents but it was a clear sending off.

It was far from clear. It wasn't dangerous play, it wasn't a strike.

This might be a little off topic - Colm Galvin and Tony Kelly are two stylistic stick men - pace, vision, skill - was very impressed. Hardly an earth shattering observation - but they were a cut above last night

What do people think of Jason Forde? Bit inconsistent - has it it all - but a bit inconsistent - that will come with maturity hopefully - I think we were pure spoiled with Eoin Kelly for a long time - he's the bench mark for a forward - we suddenly expect our free takers and main forwards to be all things to all players - one in a generation kind of player though

Bubbles has it all in a way too - but is a bit inconsistent too

What separated Kelly and Shefflin was that manic determination and thus consistency

Frustrating performance from him (weird thing to say after he scored 0-12 last night) as if he had just landed half the frees he missed we would have won the match I'm certain. Its odd for him to miss so many as hes usually deadly accurate. Still he showed for the ball plenty and worked very hard, was hard for him to get on the ball with Browne marking him and Morey sweeping. He does lack a bit of pace but has all the ability in the world. Was very impressed with the Under 21s last night lots of ball winners on the team.

Well, he was very tightly marked by AL medal winners - and he still got four from play and eight frees. He was our best forward. How many did he miss?

Can't remember exactly how many but him missing any is unusual, he is very accurate. Great ball in to Gallagher for the goal

I thought Tony Kelly was poor enough last night, Very cocky too, shown by his two goal chances.
Galvin was outstanding particularly in the latter half of the match.

Stats show he had 21 shots with just 12 scores.

"Just" 12 scores!!!! He missed chances... Where would the team have been without him?

He was in terrible form earlier in the year - i think that year round of hurling the time the mines made teh intermediate all-ireland semi took a lot out of him as he was playing under 21, and college hurling - then onto the senior inter county panel - and then getting lots of attention at in the senior club championship - he'll figure it out- good to see him clawing back towards top form - he'll make a great player yet

While I think he had a very good game, "12 scores" isn't a huge amount when you are the free-taker. He scored 8 frees and missed 4 which isn't a great strike rate especially considering some of the misses were quite easy ones.

He also got the 4 points from play - more than any other tipp man

    12 scores is fantastic

4 points from play is an excellent return and some of them were really good scores at vital times. 8 points out of 12 return from frees is not so good. 12 scores being fantastic for a free-taker depends on the context.
