Same as you do in a program like Word; Highlight a bit of already typed text, and then click the B button just above and to the left of the box you're typing in.

If you're on a phone or something and don't have the button to click, you need to do it the low tech way; put bold tags before and after the bit you want to have in bold.
To do that put [b0] in front of it, and [/b0] after it, but don't use the zero. I only put the zero in so that that sentence wouldn't look like this:

If you change the 'b' to an 'i', you get italic, to a 'u' and you get underlined, to a 'quote' and you get

etc etc etc.
Just always remember that the 'finishing' tag needs a '/' in it.
