Feargale, what you are looking at is a battery rather than a Martello as far as I know, it's quite a significant building itself but it is not the most significant thing about this location by a long shot. The actual site of the more seismic event is not in the picture but it is in the near vicinity. It's huge I tells ya:pac:, you've all heard of it.

It's Rathmullen, co Donegal. It is indeed the spot where the Earls departed from. I think the battery in the picture is the interpretative centre.
