Two big players in the last 2 years. Thats something Id never have expected. Not players from our EPL rivals.

Juan Manuel Mata García - Welcome to the mighty Manchester United my dear man.

We are not signing Tony Kroos/Gundogan/Vidal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Fair play to Moyes, he's made two signings and both have been regarded as some of the top in their position in the premier league, mata in the world even.

Enjoy your new slow player who is terrible in the air. Didn't even want him. :pac:

    Excited. Stunned. Delighted. Wet pants.

Just a few words to describe how I felt after reading that Tweet from MUFC.

We have actually signed a World Class player again.

We have a goal scoring midfilder.

    We have Spanish International.

We have one of the most creative midfidlers in European football.

We have an attacking line up of Mata, Rooney and RvP.

Welcome to The Theatre of Dreams Juan Mata.......now go get us 4th spot! (And tell your Spanish mates OT is the place to be)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,957 ✭✭✭KH25

Has to be said, although results have been poor, Moyes has attempted to address the issues in the team in the window. Fellaini first (who still may very well come good) and now Mata. I must say this gives me more confidence that we will buy well in the summer.

Mata IS signing "rinse and repeat"

    100% agree.
Yet there'll be plenty out there and in here saying he cannot attract the top talent - writing off Fellani as one of his ex players and Mata as a has been most likely.

Calm yourself, Mata will not sign for United.
The media back tracking begins. United will not sign Mata.
Just a friendly reminder this morning to keep those hopes down nice and low: United will not sign Mata.

The not key on my keyboard has been stuck for the last couple of days, but as you can see, I knew this would happen.

After all the abuse we have given him Moyes must be commended for bringing in one of the best players in the world.

Still papering over the cracks but if he can tie down Rooney to a new contract I can wait till the end of the season for a new CM & LB.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,220 ✭✭✭n32

Credit where its due. Moyes is trying to address our deficiencies in midfield instead of burying his head in the sand and saying theres no value in the market

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,356 ✭✭✭Quandary

Fair play to Moyes and Woodward.

    That'll do pigs, that'll do.

I disagree, the cracks have narrowed a lot with Moyes 2 signings. Mightnt have shown on the pitch yet but the signs are good.

We are not getting rid of Moyes. :pac:

From a Liverpool fan im jealous as fcuk but fair play to Utd for going all out for him.

Arguably the best player in the league over the course of whole last season and instantly makes you favs for top 4 imo.

    Fcukers :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Surely we have to beat Cardiff now!

And also hopefully somewhere in Manchester, Antonio Valencia is readying himself for a long stint on the bench

Thanks and he's a great signing but I think you are way off the mark making Utd favourites for 4th place.

Much much bigger problems than being short one world class player.

See lads and ladies I told you Mr Woodward would come good and complete his "marquee signing" - believe!

Fellaini doesn't come close to addressing the CM problem and Evra is a liability. Cracks are still gaping imo but Il just enjoy the good news tonight

A fully fit utd front line outscores most teams and they are almost all fit and with Mata signing, you have the attacking players to bounce off teams.

I wonder will #MoyesIn start trending now

Two more transfers in, of the right players, and a few transfers out, a bit of luck on the injuries front and things look an awful lot brighter.
Being able to attract a player like Mata is key......

Hopefully the next 7 days will bring a win against Cardiff and hopefully one or two more signings before Friday.

You never know Woodie and Moyes might surprise us again :)

You dont think the changes in playing staff since this time last season are going to improve the squad?

Fellaini hasnt had enough consistent game time, he'll be an epic player for united though, mark my words.

I remember when Van Persie was signed and I asked myself whether they really need him with the midfield in the state it's in, the midfield is still a bit of a state but there is no reservations about this signing, Juan Mata will be HUGE for United.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,659 ✭✭✭Devil08

Finally we have a decent set piece taker

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 593 ✭✭✭ician

Mata just came out and said that "working with David Moyes and Phil Neville was the deciding factor in coming to the club". Can't wait to see him play left back.

Im sure he will, but clearly is not the answer to our midfield problems. Most of our issues this year have been caused by the organisation and instructions given to playing staff.

Not when most stories point to him having no involvement besides okaying the fee.
