Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Nani is 7th

    Jesus, Mata setting up RVP

Even Moyes can't muck this up...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,229 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

That midfield, I think I just threw up a little.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 32,865 ✭✭✭✭MagicMarker

It's Moyes plan for us to concede and then he'll bring on Rooney and Januzaj, I can't think of any other reason for that midfield.

i saw rvp and mata in the lineup...started to get a bit giddy...assumed janazaj would start....then i go and see a mf like that...take out young and stick janazaj in gwan will u moyes.

Ah don't worry lads, Moyes is just easing us in to this new phase! I'm confident the 442 will gradually disappear.

As long as that midfield can get the ball to Mata we'll be grand.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,097 ✭✭✭shadowcomplex

are there highlights on anywhere later?

Wouldn't be a United match without Valencia.

Moyes runs his mouth about players coming in and in the position we are weakest in, Giggs, lol.

Should still have enough, seems strange starting rvp who's been the longer of the 2 out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,796 ✭✭✭✭Pudsy33

I really thought the signing of Mata would mark a move away from 4-4-2. 4-4-1-1 wasn't really what I had in mind!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 666 ✭✭✭collie0708

    Line up confirmed.

    De Gea
    Smalling Rio Vidic Evra
    Valencia Carrick Cleverley Young
    Welbeck Hernandez...

    .....

    cant believe giggs isnt playing:(

    :D:D:D:D

Mutv showing it as a 4-2-3-1, can't see how with 2 wingers, we'll know with the substitutions he makes

Midfield is horrible how are we gonna get the ball to mata

Wtf. I cant believe the midfield either. Giggs ffs . Moyes u baffle me once again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,796 ✭✭✭✭Pudsy33

In fairness, it could be Jones and Giggs sitting deep, with the three lads in behind RVP. I would think Kagawa and Jan would be better suited to those roles but we'll see what transpires.

Thought tonight was set up perfectly for

    Raf, smalling, Evans, evra,
    Fletcher Jones
    Kag Mata Adnan
    Rvp

Mata to the right Rooney central if Rooney could have played

Giggs and jones centre midfield. Horrible.

    Yeah fcuking hell its terrible..

    De Gea

    Rafael Smalling Evans Evra

    Valencia Jones Giggs Young

    Mata :D

    Van Persie :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 792 ✭✭✭KombuchaMshroom

The excitement of rvp and mata starting instantly vanishes after seeing that midfield, probably the worst midfield 4 combo we have at the club, cleverley being the only player missing maybe in with a claim

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 561 ✭✭✭keano2012

cardiff bottom of the table, united at home, new signing of mata, upbeat crwod because of the new signing, surely tonight was the time to go all out and attack cardiff ruthlessly. with that mf we are giving them a chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Until we get a better midfielder and fullbacks or they hit serious form we won't see 4231, Moyes going with Valencia and Young who will get up and down the line and cover our fullbacks and help the midfield

I'm not surprised, expected in really

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,981 ✭✭✭billyhead

    Mata is starting folks:P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 783 ✭✭✭Saucy McKetchup

Giggs to put in a man of the match performance and score to keep his record going

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,507 ✭✭✭✭castletownman

New player. Same old questionable team selection!

That midfield selection is shoite, even for Moyes.

A CB and a 40 year old winger in the centre and our two worst wide players. :(

Looking forward to seeing Mata and RVP app together but fear they will be starved of possession.

Bayern Munich won't give Kroos €10m a year, BILD understand Manchester United are willing to offer Kroos the wages he wants.

    Hmm.

10m euro would be about 8.2m sterling which is only about 160k a week. Not exactly unheard of.

Just under 200,000 a week bout normal most top players are getting. But we both know.....

We're already giving Ashley Young half that amount.

£200k per week for a player who would be almost perfect for us? I'll take that!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,097 ✭✭✭shadowcomplex

would kroos be a better signing than Vidal?

The money these players get each week is getting out of hand. How much does Ronaldo get now after his recent contract?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,116 ✭✭✭Professional Griefer

Nope, but I don't we could sign a better cm than Vidal.

Can't see Nike not matching whatever is offered tbh.

I'd love to see Adidas get it, they make some great kits.

I agree, if that figure is true. But the truth is we won't know what the wage will really be. A poster a while back (DM-ICE I think) showed a few of the quotes about Rooney's last deal from the Guardian, they were all sorts of contradictory. I also remember Young, Cleverley and Welbeck's wages being discussed a while ago, again there were contradictory figures being bandied about the 'net.

It seems now to me that there is lot's of speculation about individual player's wages, but rarely solid evidence.

    Also, welcome to the forum.
