Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Our horrible form and injuries.
    Jose at home.
    Chelsea's form.
Our inability, bar once, to win against a top 8 team.

I really would, love to know where the people who think we can get even a draw, let alone a win, are getting their confidence from :( cause I would like to believe like they do....

If United play 90mins today like they played in the second half against Swansea, we could easily draw or even win today. A big if though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,229 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

No Rooney or Van Persie and now rumours that Rafael and Vidic are out combined with our record (everyone's record really...) at Stamford Bridge and Moyes' awful record against big teams.

Determined performance or not, we're getting slaughtered today.

Our injuries are just beyond a joke at this stage. They've been ridiculous for years now. There has to be some explanation, our luck can't be this bad.

Not even sure where the goals are gonna come from today,I think Wellbeck will end up doing a lot of running for little reward.

A stat I read earlier from Fantasy Football: Yaya Toure has 14 goals already this season, our highest scoring player from midfield/wing is Januzaj with 3.

    http://espnfc.com/team/squad?id=360&cc=5739

I remember the days when we were a threat from anywhere on the pitch, now we rely on 2 or 3 players to get the goals & 2 of them aren't playing today.Scholes should come back to coach the first team midfielders how to shoot.

Scholes might have been a magician on the pitch but im not sure even he has the magic to fix our attacking midfielder problem.

What's that saying - "you can't make a silk purse out of a pigs ear"

i disagree- replace cleverly with paul scholes in his prime then i think we would comfortably in the champs league places. he would convert so many half chances that cleverly blasts over. not to mention the amount of his assists.

    No doubt about that!

I meant that even Scholes coaching couldn't really improve our attacking midfield options :)

Anything more on the Vidic / Rafael rumours?

Rafael isn't true, the BBC mixed him up with Fabio.

Not too bad Jan through the middle, Young is gauranteed to help out Evra.

One good game doesn't excuse countless poor performances. I'm happy with that starting team, bar Valencia of course.

clearly wants 2 out and out wingers (young and valencia). then it came down to januzaj v kagawa...id go with januzaj to start ahead of him.

    no zaha on the bench!

    Jones a Bonus

Is he going to man mark Hazard or Oscar?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,017 ✭✭✭Chagan

Would have personally preferred Kagawa in the middle with Januzaj out wide but I can see why Moyes has gone with this. Looks like we're going to try soak up pressure and hit them on the break.

Eh? Probably our best performing midfielder this season.

Fair comment, I suppose I would have preferred Fletcher though.

I don't know why I'm still surprised by Moyes constant chopping and changing.

Cowardly selection. Young and Valencia both start and no place for Kagawa.

Spineless. We are seventh in the league and looking doubtful for a champions league place. It's the end of January. Grow a set Moyes.

The end can't come soon enough for him. Shambolic.

I've no problem with jones playing, I would almost rather fletcher for carrick, besides his football, his fearlessness and leadership would have helped the whole team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,630 ✭✭✭Alpha Dog 1

Fletcher definitely deserves to be starting today.

Ohhhhhhh k, he picked a team for counter attacking football, I thinks it's a good selection, the only way were going to score is either on the counter or from a set piece, januzaj is bound to get fouled more than once.

So Kagawa behind Welbeck with Adnan out wide instead of Valencia or Young isn't?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,825 ✭✭✭Mikeyt086

Young is playing because he will help Evra out, Kagawa/Januzaj won't.

Jones is playing because he is great for games like this, see Arsenal and Real Madrid.

Thats the best team we could put out today. Still very pessimistic.

Kagawa wouldn't be as pacey as januzaj

Not as important in a no 10 role.

for all his times he can be charming and entertaining i simply hate the other side of him. the shushing of opponents fans, the thing with the barca coach where he tried to gauge his eye, etc. this stuff just doesnt sit right with me and wouldnt want out manager doing this

on the rooney part on bbc this morning they had press lads talking and they said it was him that brought it up and wanted to talk about it that the press wasnt even asking about him

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,224 ✭✭✭jimjamcos

Mourinho to show Charlton and Fergie that the job should have been his, is the most devastating way possible.

I can't stand him. Very defensive and very egotistical. Watch whenever he wins in a big game (bigger games than today, beating us would be no surprise), he very often does something unusual at the end of the game to make sure that everybody sees him and talks about him. When he loses in those big games, he is much more quiet and well behaved.

Not that I'm saying I would rather have Moyes than Jose, neither appeal to me.

Im watching both teams come out of the tunnel there and just so down heartening how weak our team is man for man compared to Chelsea (bar De Gea of course)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,825 ✭✭✭Mikeyt086

You can tell Jones hasn't played in weeks. Way off the pace so far.

Why not? You can't blame him for those goals.

Jones Evra and Raf at fault

Jaysus how many times does the ball just go through De Gea.
