    For when?

Why can't we afford the likes of Vidal? Getting them to agree to come to us is another matter, but I see no reason we can't afford players at that level. The money is there.

Moneywise, no CM should be out of reach, it is a matter of getting them to agree to come to us that will be the issue.

Sorry Mitch, I should have phrased the question better. I agree with you that money shouldn't be an obstacle. But what I was getting at is that Vidal will cost probably in the region of 35-40 million. General consensus here seems to be that we need at least 3 players. I think it would be highly unlikely to see two players of Vidal (or similar)'s quality come in one window due to the prices they would command and the club's apparent transfer policy.

Basically Im asking about other options who would improve the team greatly, but wouldn't cost what Vidal would. My knowledge on players outside of England isn't as good as some who post here so Im just interested to see people's opinions.

Actually, all the evidence points to the fact that they are in 7th place.

    Nice selective quoting there.

Reread my first sentence again there ...

I think united are going to spend far more over the next few windows than they have before, so I don't think past transfer behaviour is a pointer.

The lads on MNF doing a piece on why Everton have been good and as a result a feature on McCarthy. Think buying him for Wigan would have been exactly the right kind of business to do in the summer. Fits the age profile, aggressive and driven and lots of room to improve, already well above the level Cleverley has shown the past two seasons.

To be fair he's played better since I posted. But he's too greedy and doesn't work hard enough without the ball imo. (tonight)

Get back to me on the results, cheers.

Zaha's another punt but this was for mental money. For what we spent on him and Buttner it would make Cabaye, for example, an easier purchase to make. We could have thrown down the twenty plus million knowing that it wouldn't sink our chances of a premium signing.

Its very unfair on a young player how utd are treating him. Its pretty bad he's not going on loan

    meh excuses.

Fabio is also above this level and pretty unhappy i'd say, yet he was probably the best player on the pitch til he left.

Professionalism goes a long way. Showboating and always trying to beat your man when a pass is on. Fuc kthat ****.

Strange that Vidic has said United are out of the title race but Moyes says they arent.

But hey, why waste your time chatting to me, Watch the match and make up your own mind. Oh wait it already seems to be made up.

This is just bull. One bad game for the reserves by a young player who reportedly just had a falling out with the manager, and people like you are swanning in to say he shouldn't be playing for the club and he was a waste of money. Utter rubbish.

Everton are annoying me, WBA easily the better team but cant take their chances, Everton get one on the counter, score. Feckers

West Brom beating Everton at their own game and Everton get 1 chance and go ahead.

Seems everything will go against us this season.

I'm curious, and I don't mean this in an antagonistic way at all, but have you watched much of Zaha in the u21s? I haven't but everyone I've spoken to that has has said the exact same as Lordgoat just said.

    One bad game?

He's been like this pretty much every game i've watched him bar one. Against blackburn i think, where he scored. Other than that nothing special.

Also point out where i said he was a waste of money? I don't think he should be playing as he's not ready.

Vidal is worth every penny of that and I would have no problem if United spent that and more on him.He is a complete midfielder and one of the best around.Ticks all the boxes.

I hope to fcuk we can get RVP and Rooney back soon. With Januzaj, RVP and Rooney all playing at full fitness we have a very good chance to finish in the top 4.

If Martinez manages to get Everton to finish ahead of Utd this season it will be very embarrassing.

Juve here's 100M give us Pogba and Vidal.

I'd have no problem with that.

    I agree completely here.

If Utd were considering buying Fabregas with any level of seriousness aside from silly bids he was going to cost upwards of 40m. I think Vidal is every bit as good as Fabregas.

Whatever these players are valued at for other teams, they are worth more to us because we are so badly lacking in the middle.

Vidic has been involved in 8 title challenging run-ins, Moyes hasn't.

It's funny now give it another week and the place will be in meltdown :pac:

With that result Everton, Liverpool and Spurs have at least 2 hard games in the next 3. Anything over 4 points will be amazing for all teams, we should be taking at least 6 from the next 3.

For us to get 4th - 9 points from our next 3 (Cardiff, Stoke & Fulham) is a must - its cup final football from here on in now.

We have to have to have to have to have to take 9 points before the Arsenal game.

    Just have to.

Cant afford to drop anymore stupid points. Stoke will be tricky, but well we just have to win it

I think if we don't win the next 3, 4th will be beyond us because we would still have to play City, Liverpool, Arsenal & Everton, IMO they are now the three biggest games of our season - win the three and 4th is a very real possibility, drop points and its curtains.... its do or die Mr. Moyes - do or die!

We need RVP and Rooney back ASAP and my god we need to tighten up at the back.

I'd take three dire, sleep inducing 1-nil wins right now before we beat Arsenal 6-0.

First though 9 points from next 3.

Aye but needs must - forget about past success... this season is now about 4th place - nothing more or nothing less. Get that and we can build over the summer with mula and the prospect of CL football.

It will be a huge test of Moyes to pick them up now for those league games. He might restore a bit of faith if he can get those points. Anything less and I think we can wave 4th goodbye.

The problem though is every now and again, we go on small runs against low teams, and people think that means our form is changing and we have a chance, only to drop points to a team above us :(

Even if we win the next three (which shouldn't even be in doubt), I'll still be going into that game very negative...

According to Sky, Moyes is mirroring his last season with Everton, same number of points and GD at this stage (before tonights game) his 48 game run where he has failed to beat any of the top 4 away is staggering.

What are uniteds next three games?

We need a comeback win against Sunderland to reignite fire in the belly - that would be motivation enough to kick on.

could possibly get 9 from them 3, but the problem is that they will all think that they can win as well. Uniteds issue is that they won't take hardly any points off the top 4/5 teams.
