Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone here use them? Ever since I heard about them I've been dreaming of doing their morocco tour. The problem is I'm 25 and none of my friends are into bikes so I've no one to go with. What age would most of the group be? I wouldn't feel too left out if there was a few around the same age as myself going!

You could do that or do a fly-in and hire a local bike for small enough money as well.

I may have to go down that route I think. It wont be this year anyway because I'd like to have a decent tourer first. I bought a VFR 750 before xmas to see how I like that style of bike before I go splashing out on something newer. I still haven't even had a decent spin on it though as I'm fixing it up a bit first while the weather is bad

I cycled through.... A motorbike would be a piece of proverbial piss.

Having said that, that price isn't dreadful... You'd want to balance up the cost of going solo and riding from France/Spain plus all the required gear (however being able to go your own pace/stop where you want etc) vs having it all done for you and being with a group but at the cost of a more inflexible holiday.

Chef Chaouen (sp?) is a wonderful town and the trip up/down is breathtaking in terms of visuals.

For a first timer, this kind of tour would be a great starter and give you plenty of experience

I've been away with Overlanders several times. You get a choice of being part of an escorted tour, or simply go your own way when you pick up your bike at the destination airport.

    Check out the website http://www.overlanders.ie/.

They are based in Gorey, and will pick up your bike (or you bring it to them) before delivering it to Europe, and of course bring it back. The destination airports nearly always have Ryanair flights, so that helps keep costs down.

Best to give them a ring and discuss your wishes, speak to Derek, Dave or Hazel, you won't regret it. BTW, their most ambitious escorted tour is currently underway in South America...they are back mid February I think, but ring or email anyway.

As for age profiles, there is usually a big mix of ages travelling, singles and couples...and experience levels are just as mixed, so don't fear being left behind.

    QDM.

sean61, are you thinking of a 'tarmac tour' or riding the pistes too? Either way it's a great moto destination.
But if you plan to ride the more remote pistes I'd have to say that the safer option is to have a companion. Not for personal security issues- just the possibility of taking a tumble or a breakdown.

Flying down to Malaga or Marakesh makes good sense too to maximise the time in Morocco. Exploring Spain can wait for another trip!

Strongly considering doing the October guided tour to Morocco with them this year. Looks great.

I've been abroad a few times solo and with a pal. Worrying about transport, ferries, accommodation, security, best routes, etc., is all part of the fun...but I feel like doing a guided trip, to see what it's like, for a change.

If anyone is interested in doing this, PM me...would be nice to know someone else going (even if just from this forum)...
