Setting up a savings a/c, basic advice needed :)

Hi all, so I am getting a small lump sum of money in the next couple of weeks and I want to put it into a good savings account and keep topping it up myself by €50 or €100 per-week.

I am with AIB for my day to day banking and their online backing it amazing but I'm not too sure about opening a saving account with them.

I suppose, I am not the sharpest blade when it comes to rates, how I can gain a certain % on savings and how it all works, but if someone could point me in the right direction on what bank/savings a/c I should be looking into it would be great and a start for me.

http://www.askaboutmoney.com/showthread.php?t=20747 has up to date best rates available. As for your AIB account, you should probably close it and move to PTSB unless you like paying fees for nothing (assuming at least €1500 would be lodged to the account each month)
