Canada for 8 days

Hey folks, myself and the other half are thinking of going to Canada for 8 days in mid April. Neither of us have ever been. Would be interested in a bit of skiing also. Any recommendations on where to go first and what to do/see would be great! Cheers!

Fly to Calgary. Stay in Banff. Ski at Lake Louise, Kicking Horse, or Fernie. Don't bother with Sunshine (ski resort in Banff). Drive the Colombia Icefields (drive between Banff and Jasper, mighten be open depending on weather conditions though). Maybe stay in Jasper a night. Fly home from Edmonton.
