Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

DDG better than Casillas or Valdes? I cannot disagree more.
He is consistently better and has proved it over the last two seasons at Utd. He's put barely a foot wrong and is only halfway through just his second season. Incidently he was the best player on the pitch at the Bernabeu against Madrid in the CL too.

    I've never been rattled, ever.

Anyway now that, that inevitable sideshow is over, back to talking about Spain's squad depth.

What part of catalonia are you from?

    Germany?

Best international team in the world for me right now.
They were supposedly the best team In Europe two years ago too and Pirlo, Balotelli and co was enough to beat them.

Expect them to suffer the same fate courtesy of one of Spain/Brazil/Argentina in Brazil.

Delofeu has not been metioned yet either, if he was English he'd have been capped by now. Tello is another one.

Borja Valero and Mikel Arteta too not mentioned.

    Lets make a fourth team

    De Gea

    Carvajal/Montoya Ruiz Dominguez

    Delf Illarramendi/Herrera Suarez/Benat Michu/Muniain

    Jese Morata/Tello Llorente

    Ehh

    I couldn't agree more with a post on the forum than this. 2012, 2010, 2008, 2006..

I'm not from any part, I simply admire a club from Catalonia who are entirely dedicated to playing the game the right way, who've brought through so many wonderful players, who have provided so many great moments and memories. Though of course I'd be fully in favour of Catalonian independence.

Id agree too but this must be the most impressive crop of players theyve had in a while now? Ill shout for em in any case.

Germany have been underachievers of late but Bayern's recent dominance might transmit to the team, not to mention how well Dortmund have been doing recently too.

They play it a right way not the right way. They do lack the direct option which is needed on occasion.

    xavi--iniesta
    --Pedro--costa---silva

    Villa----negredo--cazolra

    reina
    Juanfran--martinez---bartra--moreno
    javi martinez
    thiago
    koke
    isco

The best team doesn't always perform to a level they can or win matches they should, such is football. Not that I think Germany were the best in 2012, Spain were slightly better imo. I rate Germany higher now.

With all the talk about Germany they have still not managed to win a tournament since Euro 96. Long time for them.

If it was in Europe or Asia I would fancy them, but I think it will be South American winner this time.

They are my favourite team to watch internationally at the moment though. Always had soft spot for them.

I don't think what happened at previous tournaments is as relevant as people think it is. I personally don't think it's very relevant at all!

Im talking about how Germany are perceived the last few years as a team that are to be feared, but yet have blown quite few major tournaments.

Yes, I know what you're saying, I just don't think it's relevant to today's team and their chances in the Summer.

I agree there. Very good side. Just think with heat and all its advantage to South American teams.

Thats your opinion and all that, but I diosagree. DDG is very flappy still. Not doubting his ability, but he is simply not a better keeper than Valdes or Casillas. Id imagine Del Bosque is well aware of DDGs progress and is happy to leave him out for now.

Not sure to be honest, he had to Brazil Apps in 2013?

They actually started favourites for Euro 2012, at one of the stupidest prices in living history. I do see them as reasonably big players this time around though. We should know early on how they're adapting to the climate

He did. But he has now switched and has made himself available for Spain.

Good side, but even then some of those players were not half as good as they turn out few years later.

They went from being very average to good side very quickly.

Individually that is quite a frightening starting 11

I wonder why that is... http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056873288

So Monreal is Spain's second choice left back to Alba yet he plays second fiddle to Gibbs who is England's third choice at best.

Left back is about the only position where England are well covered though. Also very little between Gibbs and Monreal and alot of Gooners would have Monreal first choice.
