Hi I've the forms, completed, signed by the Gardai, but the cost isn't it's terribly clear, I see E80 and E110 for an adult and different types of passport. I'm not sure how much to sign for? it's a simple renewal for an Irish born adult.

I know this is the wrong forum but didn't know where else to post.

    Advice appreciated

    Thanks

    K

    Passport fees
How much does an Irish passport cost?
This depends on how you submit your application.

    Passport Express

    Standard 10-year passport is €80
    Large 66-page, 10-year passport is €110
Standard 5-year passport for those between 3 and 18 years is €26.50
Standard 3-year passport for those under 3 years is €16

    Public counter (Dublin and Cork)

    Standard 10-year passport is €95
    Large 66-page, 10-year passport is €125
Standard 5-year passport for those between 3 and 18 years is €41.50
Standard 3-year passport for those under 3 years is €31

    Public counter - Emergency charge:

You’ll have to pay the following emergency charge if you receive your passport within three to five working days:

    Adult – €55
    Under 18s – €30

All above from the dept of foreign affairs website

    Too much, ahem.

It's €80 for a standard size 10 year adult passport plus a €9 admin fee when sent through Passport Express. This can be paid for by handing it in to the Post Office.

Thanks, so I'm posting it to cork, should I mark E89 ( assuming I've a E9 admin fee) then? or E80?

and what is the difference between a
    Standard 10-year passport
    and a Large 66-page, 10-year passport?

    Thanks
    :)

The large passport would be for frequent business travellers etc. Standard passport is what you're looking for.

Mark the €80 option. The remaining cost is when you pay for the cost of sending it through passport express in the post office. That charge has nothing to do with the passport office
