Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Before anyone asks. K/O is 17.30 on Sky Sports 1.

Think Swansea could get a bit of a kicking today. Man U are nowhere near as poor/disjointed a team as many would like/hope for them to be.

I can't see how you came to that conclusion, they really are unfortunately.

True, I'd always expect Utd to come out all guns blazing after the last few weeks but I don't know who on the team can do that. Without Rooney there doesn't seem to be much fight in the team. There isn't one player atm for Utd who seems to be able to inspire them bar Rooney. People can say what they want about moyes but the players have shown no bottle.

Well, speaking as a United fan, we most certainly are.

I don't doubt that they are in transistion, but I simply do not believe that they are a poor team. Have heard it trotted out far too many times about how a particular season was the one that would see Man U fall apart or how their midfield/defence etc was simply not good enough to win anything.

They might be wobbling this season, but they are only 5 points outside the CL spots despite all their woes. That small gap still has me wary of them.

They are a massive club with the finances to genuinely go after top players, and they are a club whose name will still attract top players. Would take a number of seasons finishing outside of the top four for their attraction to dull imho, and I would be very doubtful of that happening.

Now I would love for them to fall from grace and stay down, but I think that come next season we will see Man U as a force from the get go and this season (which is far from over) may unfortunately serve them well as a club/team unit.

Says a lot about the standards they set when one season out of the title race from over twenty seasons is seen as a disaster of sorts.

    2-0 United.

From a Man U fan's pov it probably does look like a disaster, but I think a lot of that could be done to the very high standards you lot have gotten used to.

Would love to write off your club, but history has taught me not to.

I can see a Utd win but can't see a kicking.

even bookies have turned.best you can get on Swansea is 7/2 :(

If United are to win it will most likely be by a solitary goal and defending for their lives for the last 10 minutes.
Without Rooney and RvP there's no goals in that team, there's no real creator of goals either. Welbeck and Januzaj are the only hope, maybe Hernandez if he finds his feet again.

Would like to see Zaha and Fletcher start and kagawa behind Welbeck but I doubt it will happen.
    DDG
    Raf
    Vidic
    Smalling
    Evra
    Carrick
    Fletcher
    Zaha
    Kagawa
    Adnan
    Welbeck
    4231.

    2-1 United

They're not that bad. 11/2 at a good few places.

Well at the very least one will start, probably two. There isn't anyone else!

If Young is injured then Welbeck will likely be on the left.

Kagawa on the left with Welbeck behind Chico

Sadly, if this happens, I see Swansea winning again. Kagawa dropped into the hole late in that game and everything started coming through him. His is beyond wasted on the left. 'tis a shame.

I'd rather Giggs on the left tbh.

What's wrong with Welbeck?, I think he looks good for young lad, if he got more games he could be a top striker I think. I'm not so sure about Hernandez, but he makes life difficult for defenders, that's for sure.
We can't have these lads sitting on bench for months on end then expect them to be as good as Rooney or RVP. But they're decent players IMO.
I always saw this season as write off for UTD, right from the start I saw CL qualification as our goal, and that's still within reach.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

So would I, but it's baffling how Moyes can play someone who is evidently shít at being a winger on the wing time after time but he does that with Valencia as well

Welbeck can play really well on the wing and has the pace to beat a man which Kagawa lacks which is even more baffling because if your winger can't beat a man and you're not set up to link him up with everyone like Arsenal do with Ozil, then what is he doing on the pitch, logically it should be Kagawa and Welbeck swapped

    Valencia will start so I would like to see ;
    Welbeck
    Januzaj Kagawa Valencia
    Carrick Fletch

I think that is the strongest line considering who is available to us.

Either - game starts, good pressure from us for first 15 -20 minutes, we get a goal and relax and beat Swansea pretty easily

Or - games starts, our early pressure in the first 15 - 20 minutes yields no reward, we retract back into our semi-clueless football style, who the fook knows what the score will be then.

Slight difference dont you think? You need to look beyond.............................actually, I cant find them as short as 7/2 anywhere

I think we win today, I think we have to. Without Rooney or VP I dont see it being a kicking for Swansea though, will take a 1-0 win with a scrappy OG in the 93rd minute right now actually
