Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If Moyes doesn't change it up we'll be lucky to get a draw

I agree with this, the wingers are clearly not doing the business, to continue to use that and only that as a tactic is ridiculous. Its the definition of insanity.

You have to mix it up, keeps the defence honest if nothing else.

Since Moyes has come in its all we have. Sure Rooney and RVP are missing but its clear to anyone watching its not working. We have no plan B here.

He has yeah, but besides that point, would you rather Cleverley there?

Carrick looks like he hasnt broke sweat yet,he is just jogging around .
He is completely one paced in his play ,a slow lethargic style of play .

I would rather a decent midfielder in there ,something the team hasnt had for a number of years.

Same goals as RVP in less starts, but he should be dropped?

    Mind numbing.

    Welbeck frustrates me.

He shows some moments of genius, and then at other times he couldn't hit water if he was on a boat.

Huh? Kagawa has done nothing. Nothing!

He's had one or two nice touches tbf

But to say he's playing very well is a joke I agree with you there

United aren't anything. I can't even start to define what they are supposed to be.

Swansea seem to sacrifice the link between forwards and midfield in order to crowd the middle and keep the ball. Makes them difficult to break down but not threatening so far.

    I wish we were defensive.

Raf (oh but he's good going forward) has he made a pass? And don't quote the wellbz chance he fluffed it and it was deflected. He has been brutal this season. Luckily Evra has been worse.

So much work needed in this team.

When we move the ball upfront we are ok, but Kagawa needs to be central, Janz right and someone else on left, someone who can defend and help Evra out when he goes for his regular naps.

Fully expect the sea swans to win.

Huh? Kagawa has done nothing. Nothing!

He has looked like he could do something in the middle.

Out wide he will do feck all, same as Tony V

Its time to abandon the 442 formation.
The wingers are useless and the odd time they do get a ball into the box there is nobody there to receive it as the central midfielders are too deep.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,345 ✭✭✭keeponhurling

Not sure having Welbeck up top with either Kagawa or Adnan behind us working.

But if we go with two strikers we'll be starved of the ball.
When does Rooney come back again ?!

Shelvey is no Messi, but I do like how he drives forward with the ball and can spray it wide, bit of variety to it

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,193 ✭✭✭✭Kerrydude1981

At least we are winning the touches in the opposition box stat.

Getting that same old feeling that something is going to go wrong in the second half, got lucky that Swansea aren't creating much themselves so far.

Possession: United 34%, Swansea 66%. Wow. I'm stunned at that. Fair enough, their possession may not have been ultimately effective, but still... Wow.

Even Januzaj looks like he's having a semi-quiet night, which is exactly what United did not need right now.

I've given up on Evra. Want him gone in the Summer. He's too lazy and for all his talk around Christmas he is the one most guilty of the lethargy. Offers nothing going forward anymore and is a liability defensively.

Right, so since that isnt there, I ask again, would you prefer Cleverley there?

Carrick is playing his usual game, he is not on top form yet but he has certainly crossed the half way line and to say he has done nothing offensively is a bit silly considering it came quick enough after he hit the pass that opened them up.

Carrick has been a passenger in that first half, only problem is that he is as good as we got.

Starting to feel a bit sorry for Januzaj and Welbeck in this Utd team..god knows how Rooney and Van Persie put up with it (probably the wages).

    Beer time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,006 ✭✭✭edgecutter

Play 5 in the middle, cleverly instead of valencia and try no wingers. My reason for this is that we may be able to hold onto the ball a little longer to start some attacks. 34% of possession is shocking for a team that needs a win.

Yeah and atmosphere is poor at these home games. Away fan atmosphere is good.

Theres a lot to be said for some drum beating and a guy on microphone orchestrating the chants like in spain or germany - I`ll organise that lads.

even one goal should be enough. Bony has been beyond awful and Swansea ineffective and aimless in the final third.

Though whether United have any idea how to get the goal I'm not sure

Huh? Kagawa has done nothing. Nothing!

One of our better players today. Showing well for the ball and involved in some of better moments.

Like I said, think he'd do better through the middle and Jan would have more space out wide.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

While he said 4-4-2, which isnt right, I think the point was more on the move away from traditional wingers which i completely agree with. Lets have width from full backs (not evra, get someone competent in) and it gives us more options through the centre.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

    Kag central :)

I think his point is to get rid of the focus on wing play. Which is fair enough really. Need more through the centre, although I think we have been a bit better in that front in this game. Just very congested in the centre

Britton really is an imperious player. Fantastic close control and reads the game so well when defending. Shockingly underrated player.

feck it bring on Lingard for Tony

Kag behind Welbeck and put Adnan on the left

4411 I would have thought from looking at the first half.

Jan seems to be playing just behind Welbeck.
