Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

even one goal should be enough. Bony has been beyond awful and Swansea ineffective and aimless in the final third.

Though whether United have any idea how to get the goal I'm not sure

Im always curious that when a top4 targetman holds it up and lays it off a few times.....like giroud, his hold up play is excellent but when a mid table variant does the exact same thing he's "beyond awful".

Wouldnt it be mental to play to the teams strengths right now all the time? Kag through the middle, Jan out wide. Be mad Id say

I think his point is to get rid of the focus on wing play. Which is fair enough really. Need more through the centre, although I think we have been a bit better in that front in this game. Just very congested in the centre

That would be a fair enough point. Talking about United playing 442 when they are clearly not though is just repeating tired clichés for the sake of it.

All came from Adnan being out wide. Tactical stroke of genius from Moyes.

Bony was lauded as a great signing, looks muck too me.

Having a very good season, very isolated today, has power, pace, good goalscorer.

Dunno how you would come to that conclusion tbf

Britton really is an imperious player. Fantastic close control and reads the game so well when defending. Shockingly underrated player.

He must be 5f 4 and 7 stone though :p

United are playing 451. Time to abandon the clichés.

    Well its probably 4411 .

The wide men are not doing their job this season ,Kagawa is poor today and how Valencia keeps getting picked is baffling.
3 central midfielders is needed against Swansea ,34% possession at home to a second string Swansea side is embarrassing.
For the last few years under Ferguson the midfield couldnt compete on a footballing level against the top EPL teams now they are struggling against mid table teams

Januzaj was on the left wing for the final 10 minutes of the first half. It's not like the goal was an immediate result of the switch at half time.

about time we got the rub of the green val miles off when cross was put in

    Good formation change by Moyes.

Swansea now have to play in their half rather than Utds.

Jan, Evra, Kag, Fletcher pushed right up

Swansea have feck all in behind and Bony not that type of player.

A very good season? What? Apart from the games vs City,Stoke and the previous two showings against us he's been very hit and miss this season.

    Agreed. It's not 442.

I think Fletcher is playing very well. Turns over possession quite well

We look a mile better with Kagawa behind Welbeck. Surprise surprise

Completely different side in the second half so far. We need another goal.

...and Adnan on the wing. We've had 3 decent attacks since halftime and he was heavily involved in them all

Yep, you take it all into consideration (Swansea not been particularly good at chance creation) and 6 goals, 1 assist in his first full season with 10 starts and 7 times on as a sub (which read, on at 74, 75,64,65, etc)

It has been a very good season for him. Expect him to kick on again too.

No back and forth please :) Dont care that much about him

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Well on top now, second goal is a must or it will get nervy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,316 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

While he said 4-4-2, which isnt right, I think the point was more on the move away from traditional wingers which i completely agree with. Lets have width from full backs (not evra, get someone competent in) and it gives us more options through the centre.

That is exactly what I meant .;)
