Difficulties buying house in North Dublin

Hi We are currently seeking a house in North Dublin - usual 3-bed semi / detached, anywhere from city centre out as far as Clarehall. Finding it pretty cut-throat at the minute, as any properties going on the market are getting snapped up straight away. Further, properties seem to be selling for more than the asking price.…

We are having the same problem too - every house we're interested in seems to have about ten other couples bidding on it and we are eventually outbid... has happened 3 times now. Now we are trying to decide whether to settle for a house & area we don't really want or whether to keep saving and wait it out ... that's hoping that eventually things settle and prices drop back which may never happen... it's very hard to know what to do.
