Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cassette question

I have a road bike with a 50-39-30 triple and a 8 speed 12-25 cassette. They are unbranded decathlon stuff but compatible with Sram and Shimano. The deraileur is Shimamo based on the 2300. I would like to get a cassette with some lighter gears like a 11-30 and even 11-34. Can this be done if I also change the chain? Any suggestions?

As long as do not have "short" derailler you should be ok to at 30. I just put a sram 11/32 (pg850) on a old 90's campagnolo groupset and it just about works but a 11/30 would be ideal.

Steer clear of shimano 8 speed, the ones I have tried are basic engineering and heavy and make a lot of noise.
