Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Waiting on disability, no source of income?

    Hello, hoping someone can help me I feel totally lost with this.

    I was on BTE allowance taking a 3rd level course, I recently deferred due to mental health reasons. I have informed the welfare of this and my BTE payment has now stopped, I have applied for disability allowance and realise this will more than likely be 3 or 4 months. Problem is I live out of home and have no income or savings, being under 25 if I qualify for supplementary allowance, do I get 100euro a week? (I was getting 188E on BTE.) Also seeing as I left college due to health reasons, what chances do I have to qualify for BTE for returning to college in September ? Hopefully I will be on disability allowance by then, but I read that you must be on it 9 months to qualify? In that case I would only be on it perhaps 3 by that stage.

    I would greatly appreciate some imput

    I'd talk to your community welfare officer to see if they can help ,
    Disability your looking at an 8-12 month wait for a decision and at that you might get refused / denied it on your first application ,

    What payment were you on before you got back to education, if it was disability you should revert straight back to this, go to your local cwo in the meantime.

    I was on job seekers for a year or more, then BTE. I will go see the cwo
    Tomorrow as suggested. :)
