We have a leaking radiator in our hall.

We cannot afford to get our entire heating system checked out and in the short term we would like to just have it disconnected from the gas central heating.

    Is this possible?

Turn off the valves at both sides of the radiator.

Done by our current plumber, and it still leaks about 2-3 litres a day, hence looking to see if we can disconnect it.

I have a few recommendations for a new plumber, but wondering if it's unrealistic

It's due to rust, there are vast gaps in the radiator.

    Was the rad emptied?
If it was, one of the valves is passing & would therefore need replacing to stop the leak.
