Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It was fully deserved, I've just never understood the continued love in that United fans have for a man that forced through a move to Madrid.

Or how about the fact he stayed an extra season to help the club with Ferguson allowing him to fulfill his ambition the following year?

But your stories are more entertaining I suppose.

We're fans of the player and appreciate what a talent he is. As opposed to hating him because of the club he used to play for or whatever prejudice perception you have of him.

I don't think he stayed an extra year to help the club, I think a deal was struck that was beneficial to both parties.

Fully Deserved. Still think Messi is the better player, but Ronaldo was better in 2013.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Feel bad for Ribery, easily the best out of the 3 for a past year
    No.

Truly deserving winner, very close between him and Ribery this year, and naturally the Ronaldo haters will say it should have been his. If the voting had taken place before the international games then maybe it would have been but that certainly swung it toward Ronaldo who had obviously already had a resoundingly better year then Ribery on a personal level, but Ribery had a strong case with his contributions to such a successful team.

Didnt get to see the awards yet or the actual result

    Did it go

    Ronaldo
    Ribery
    Messi

Or did Ribery get shafted out of second?

Anyway, congrats Ronnie. another unbelievable year in the bag, hopefully many more to come. Super player.

Hodgson didn't have Messi in his top 3.

    he went Ronaldo, Zlatan, RVP.

And that is supposed to be anybodys problem but your own?

You dont have to understand it

I am honestly more concerned by those who left Ribery out then Messi :)

No idea how he could not be in everybodys top 3

Messi votes for Xavi Iniesta and Neymar

    Ronaldo went Falcao Bale Özil

Do they do that every year? Leave each other out?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

the top 3 were pretty standout IMO.

leaving any of them out was kind of silly.

Never paid much attention to it, but sure they probably do :)

Showing they have roughly as much class as each other?

Did anyone vote for Vidal? No seemingly
Lahm was outstanding all year btw not as if its Glen Johnson & Lewandowski did more in the Champ League last season than the 3 up for the vote today. Remember...

It's very much vote for your mates. Should be that you can't vote for team mates, club or international

Vidal didn't make the short-list of 23 named by FIFA:eek:

Ronaldo scored 1,365 points. Messi got 1,205 and Ribery 1,127.

It was the year before, the irish media vote (Jimmy magee and Paul kelly) left him out last year.
