    Hi all.

I have a smart tv, and a hefty sky subscription. Have paid sky 7500 over the past 5 years....unbelievable looking back at it.

We can get various players on our tv, and i've just suscribed to Netflix which looks amazing.

I'm wondering what do these boxees and rokus have to offer?? Can you stream from the internet, or can you get tv channels? And once you own them is there a subscription fee to pay? And, last but not least, can you stream in HD and 3D with a fast connection (100mb)

Thanks any of you saints who take the time to read & answer!!

    Hi Flippy,

I asked and answered a simliar question here back when I was about to launch into the murky world of internet-connected TV.

After a lot of research I opted for the Roku 3 as it suited my needs. It's incredibly simple to setup and use and can support Netflix. There are tons of other channels on it of varying quality.

Yes you can stream from the internet, they now have a Youtube channel. And yuo can alos play files from your local network and from USB sticks. Although it has to be said that the Roku is the not the best option if most of your content is local files as it only supports a few formats.

Yes HD content is available but AFAIK the Roku does not support 3D.

    Hope that helps.
