Does that have the bottling date on it?

No but it does have a lot number which is 0039. No idea what date that means.

The best before, as a rule, is a year after bottling with most craft beers.

So check the best before and change the year back one and you've got it.

Ashtray Heart again. Probably the nicest smoked porter I've ever had.

Just looked there. Shipping is a bit pricey 5e per item.

Wonder if they're available in the GBB bars?

Someone asked them on twitter and they said they would see but it was unlikely for now as the stock is in Galway

I wonder if they will do what 8Degree's did and allow you to buy a case of beer from their website?

    It'd probably be €5 a bottle delivery.

Just went to the store and threw a few things into the basket.

€47 (few tshirts and glasses) and €19 delivery making it €66 total, that's ridiculous.

Picked up some of Oxymoron Kiwi Wit from Eight Degrees and it's delicious stuff. A seasonal limited edition offering from them 2 chaps :pac:

A belgian-y style beer with New Zealand hops all crisp and zesty stuff at 6.2%.

    4 for €10 isn't to shabby either

Also picked up some of Brewdogs 'Hoppy Christmas' leftovers for €2 a pop. Delicious carry on.

Really like it too. Don't feel the Belgian wit style came across, as it was masked by the strong hops, but still plenty enjoyable.

Was surprised to pick up a couple of bottles of KBS at the weekend (as I couldn't find them at all when they first came on sale), so I have one stuck in the fridge for this evening, *if and only if* I run a personal best time in a 5k race this evening. Otherwise, I shall be having a cup of chai tea. Wish me God-speed!

    What time you aiming for?

Attach that beer to a piece of string dangled from a stick strapped to your head. guarantee you'll break your PB.

Well, that's kind of the idea! Used to keep the Westvleteren XII's for the PBs, but I'm down to my last one, so it needs to be kept for something really special.

It's got to be under 15:50, or it's a chai latte for me. :(

Hah, 3:09 a km. Good luck with that!

Had a decent bottle of RadikAle pale ale the other day, good to see another decent brew from Cork. I am enjoying single hopped ales recently like this and Mikkeler and BrewDog, isolating strains is a great way of figuring out which hops you like and why.
Enjoyed a nice clean (but pricey!) To Øl 'Insane in the Grain', more into my sharper/sweeter IPAs but this was a bit more on the bitter and sour side but still good, in many ways it tasted more like a Belgian Trippel than an IPA though!

Is that the shroud of Turin or your jip rag?

    It's a tea-towel. I was hoping you wouldn't recognise your mother's kitchen. ;)

Sticking to the subject of beer, followed up the KBS with an Ashtray Heart. There's always room in the world for another smoked beer, but I think I'll stick with the Schlenkerla beers. Just nicer all rounders in my opinion.

Galway Bay's Buried at Sea Chocolate Milk Stout.

I don't drink chocolatey drinks very often so I don't have many points of reference for this. I drank it with polpette and roasties which I thought was going to be a mistake but because of the lightness it bounced of flavors in the meat beautifully and never felt out of place.

I would have preferred more muscle in the body it felt a bit too light and a tad more alcohol would have been welcome. Overall it was a very drinkable stout and the points I didn't enjoy were ones they told me on the label they were trying to execute so they've designed exactly what they were after a tasty easy drinking chocolate stout.

Some pace! Running at 20km's is it? Thoughts on beer?

Glass of Mikkeller's Monks Elixer in the Beer Market after work. Almost like a caramel-cherry lambic with a slight smokey flavour. Fantastic.

Cheers! The beer was wonderful. I was expecting to be a little disappointed, given the hype, but I wasn't disappointed at all. It was so incredibly smooth and well-balanced, that it made you want to savour it for as long as possible. Figured that at that alcohol %, it might be like a whack in the face, but it wasn't at all. I wouldn't drink it too often, but certainly worth the asking price and a worthy celebration beer.

Had a few of the Beer Camp 2015 over the last two nights. At first I thought it was a nice hoppy lager that would be a nice alternative to the usual crap beer in a regular pub, but would now pass. Finish is too watery and just doesn't stand up after a few. Also trying the Hop Hunter, so far so good but despite the bumpf about hop oil I'd much prefer their Hoptimum which is a real kick in the hops.

I thought Hop Hunter was very subtle, going by the pr behind it I was expecting a real face melter. Still a nice beer though.

I agree it was a nice beer, just didn't live up to the marketing (surprise surprise).

Finishing with a Dirty Bastard - one of my favourites but after the others it just doesn't have the caramel flavours I'm used to. Maybe the bottle was off but more than likely my tongue is a bit hop fried.

Boneyard are outstanding, wish we could get some of this collaboration beer over here.

Our local specialist off licence here in Frankfurt took delivery of a box of Galway Hooker. Being a Galway man I decided I'd pick a few up when I saw it. First time having it from the bottle. It's a lovely easy-drinking beer, and has a nice hoppy profile. The 4.3% volume makes it the type of beer I'd be happy to have a few of.

The free olives in the beer market are a nice touch.

Had a Beerd Colossus, Mi Antonia and full sail tonight in there. Great crowd in there too.
