Just finished a Nogne O #500 imperial pale ale. Very tasty. Like a Two Captains but with a little more punch.

I had my first taste of 8 degrees Full Irish recently and it was lovely. Really enjoyable beer.

I also has a Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter. Very drinkable but not as nice as someone of their other offerings. Would definitely go for a Torpedo over over this!

Meh, it's a red ale, hard to get it wrong.

Stone Barrel Boom IPA is pretty nice. Looking forward to trying it out tomorrow down at Flavour of Fingal.

    Brehon's stony grey.

I'm a fan of the citrus type ipa, but i also love this.

    Local bias I suppose.

It's great that there's some proper beer being produced in pretty much everyone's locality around the country now

Looking forward to trying it out tomorrow down at Flavour of Fingal.

I have it on good authority that there's a new Dublin brewery launching at that this weekend.

erm yeah, Wood Key, I already got their beer and drank it :)
12Acres, a sub 5% Pale Ale €4.49 in CarryOut Clongriffin.

    You can keep it.

Picked up a growler of Odells/Beavertown Papa Pils.

Also got a growler of Road Trip in McHughs and some of The Pilgrim, a Grand Stretch and a Stone Barrel Boom
Bit of the Clotworthy Dobbins about The Pilgrim

Hopefully they have a draught version tomorrow, it was on growler too in McHughs.

Nice beer, peach and mango on the nose and pretty full bodied for a session ale

Was there today, it's bottles at a fiver a pop. I thought it was decent. Stone Barrell are there too. It's a good day out. Your kid might be a bit young for some of the attractions but will enjoy it I think!

Torc Amber Ale : Thought it was very mild and a bit malty.

Overall IIPA by To Øl : Lovely Imperial IPA.

Jaipur X by Thornbridge Brewery : Jaipur on speed! Think I prefer the normal one.

Reserve Raspberry Russian Imperial Stout 13 by Widmer Brothers Brewing : Smells like raspberries tasted like it also. Also had a hint of chocolate and a few hops into the mix. Was interesting and got better as warmed up.

Right asked a few brewery's on twitter if they could stick a bottling date on their IPA's. They gave me what they deem is their bottling date.

    White Hag - Best before - 10
    Kinnegar - Best before - 6
    Trouble - Best before - 12

No response from Galway Bay or Blacks

Was in a hotel bar yesterday evening and they had nothing decent so after a few pints of Smithwicks I had this at home to make up for the disappointment.

Gose by Westbrook, a really nice sour, that's salty but refreshing.

Victory at Sea, what a stout. Coffee and Vanilla, easy drinker at 10%.

Finishing my session with a Sink the Bismarck. It's very nice, gum Numbingly good.

    Hi All.

I usually enjoy a few pints/bottles of Heineken on the weekends but i am looking for something new to try out.

Does anyone have any ideas or are there any beers that are recommended by most?

You can't go wrong with 8 Degrees Howling Gale Ale as a starter

Can anybody please recommend a sparkling pale ale i can buy in an off license. My bro inlaw has a goo for the sparkling at the moment. And i haven't a clue where to get out and don't have time to brew him some.
    Cheers.

Grand Stretch IPA, again. Fantastic flavour for a 4.2% beer.

Nearly got it the other day but went for founders all day IPA instead as I knew it was good.

Will give it a go now you recommend it though.

hes going through the introduction to crafts,
before it was Kronenbourg or Guinness
he has a great selection on tap being in London,
but is finding sparkling ales to his liking and is over in Dublin soon so asked me to pick him up some.

ill have to sample the brews mentioned to make sure they are good.
    thanks for the help.
