illness benefit when in receipt of widows pension

I'm currently working, but also in receipt of widows pension. If I need to take sick time at work, I know I'm not entitled to illness benefit.

However should I follow a particular process - i.e. submit any social welfare claim to ensure my stamps are in order?

    Many thanks
    P

You can apply for IB just for the credits. You won't get a payment but will keep your credits up to date.
