trying to install a new graphics card to a lenovo server to set up a htpc.
    having issues though!
I go into Bios and select PCIe for main display adapter but oin board vga is still being selected.
also when i seat the card and connect it up and power it on fan goes really loud and pc shuts down.
anyone any pointers as i have been at this for 5 hours now .
psu is 280watts and required wattage for card is 400watts but it has been claimed that these cards run on that wattage or even lower.
    card

with VGA still selected in bios and the card inserted into place,

Install the new card's driver, then reboot into bios and select pci option for graphics !

Hopefully that will do the trick

280W seems very low TBH ..... I would suspect the PSU is not capable of delivering the required power.

Send card back as PC has display port.
I have ordered a display port to HDMI cable.
I will see how that goes.
Would really like to have dedicated graphics.
    check this out
according to my set up it should work and should have 20watts to spare.
    now i am confused
