FETAC/CAO question

Im doing a FETAC Level 5 Music course and already applied to CAO. As with LC candidates they input there examination number when applying through cao in order for their results to go on to the CAO system.

My question is, how are CAO/the colleges supposed to know what grades us FETAC people have gotten, or do you ring the college your applying to and tell them your doing a PLC course ??

    Answers would be great!

The CAO use your PPS number to match your FETAC results to your application.

One more question regarding fetac/cao. I friend of mine is doing a Fetac 5 course and wishes to apply to college for next September. As far as I know there used to be two routes on applying to cao with fetac, could someone give a bit more information regarding how they work?

If he is over 23, then CAO regards you as a mature student.. The date for CAO forms to be in by has already passed (feb 1st) ..
You only need CAO if you are applying for universities (DIT/TRINITY/UCD etc)
You can apply to 'senior colleges' without going through CAO

Hey sorry to jump in on this thread but it's the most recent one. I have applied to the CAO using FETAC. I just seen there for the course I want it states you need 3 distinctions in a number of courses to be in with a chance. I have FETAC level 5 and 6 in childcare and both courses are acceptable. My worry is I have 4 distinctions in my level 5 but only 1 in my level 6. Will they take into account my level 5 grades or just level 6 because its a higher level?

Sorry to jump in randomly but any sort of information would be great.
    Thanks.
