Could be a cracking finish. Not looking like a time-trial race at the moment.

Hope so. I'm looking forward to the pacemakers dropping off as I find that confusing to watch and then the race can start properly.

Yeah, I know. Wonder when the first move will be made. Bekele looks to be running a sensible race. Hard to know at the moment.

In the meantime we do get that classic view of the first mile once everyone has left. That would have kept me up at night worrying if I hadn't known what it looked like.

Johnny through 15k in 1.09.10. On course for 3.14.xx finish.

Bekele looks to be using the others now to shade him from the sun.

Jake Krong through halfway in 68:47 - predicted finish 2:17:35 - if his hammy holds up...

Does Kipchoge sweat? Haha! Worst commentary ever.

Any chance we can see the elites running instead of another airhead **** spouting ****.

I'm turning this off as soon as the leading woman crosses the finish line. The glorification of 4 hour marathons annoys me at the best of times, but throw in American "you can do it" bullsh1t and it becomes intolerable.

They are giving virtually no coverage of the women's race. Quite insulting. Ok, that's my last comment on the coverage!

    Haha!

At least RTE will do a better job when covering the Dublin Marathon. Oh wait.....

    Wait until Kipchoge starts sweating.
Bekele and the pack are f*cked!

Everyone knows he doesn't sweat. Have you been listening at all?

I have to admit that I have only been watching this for 15 minutes. I have seen about 25 seconds of the womens elite race and none of the mens. What kind of coverage is this?

ANY CHANCE OF COVERING THE RACE????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,610 ✭✭✭yaboya1

Now we're on Columbus Drive just before the first mile marker.
The race started an hour and forty minutes ago so there's nobody here.
Obviously this is more interesting than the men's/women's elite races.

    FFS!

No chance of mile markers on the map but temperatures classic.

I thought it couldn't get worse than paris two years ago when they started to interview a dog in the middle.

The US public give even less of a sh1t about elite athletics than we do. NBC are giving the people what they want to see. Sad but it's the truth.

    "he's a professional athlete. He's a tennis pro".

    FFS!!

FFS so a reporter is interviewing another reporter.

Sadly that is the truth of it. Checked their FB and not only were they not complaining about lack of athlete coverage they were actually complaining that they were showing the East African's to much and to show more of "other runners"

From the little bit of the men's race we did see there, I'd like to be on Chumba.
