Wi-fi radio

Hello all,

Im looking for a wi-fi radio. Budget of around 150 euro. It would be used in the kitchen area so alarm clock features are not important. Also, would I be correct in saying wi-fi radios simply connect to my broadband router?

Great quality sound is not that important & I would mainly just connect to Irish stations.

Any recommendations?

I have one of their models.
Need to research well though, not all their models show the artist/song data currently playing. Heritage and K2 model do I think.

Yes, they simply connect to your router wirelessly. Some models also have Ethernet port for a lan cable as well.

In your kitchen you will get drop outs when microwave is on if anywhere close to it using wireless as they both operate on the 2.4 ghz channel. Same for dect phone interference.

This one actually looks like it will fit the bill. No need for ipod doc station though. Its also £150 at the moment.

Get a Sonos Play 1. but they are e199, i got one for Christmas and it's great.

Got my brother a Revo PiXiS RS for Christmas. Nice bit of kit. Great sound. Touchscree. Slightly over budget for you.

I'd recommend visiting a few stores to check the players out as sometimes the whole internet aspect isn't as user friendly as you'd imagine. And as mentioned the screens and the info displayed can be a bit underwhelming.

It is deffo a wifi radio. I did all the research. Streams radio stations from around the world. The is a few versions of the PiXiS and not all are wifi. This is the one

The one thing I would absolutely recommend is a radio with at least 5 physical preset buttons - going through a menu to select stations is a pain, internet stations take a wee bit longer to load so you want to be able to hit a button and walk away.

Logitech have been selling this for only €129 including delivery for some time now, and pretty nifty it is too.
