What's psychiatric nursing?

I was just wondering if anyone doing the course could tell me about it? I've read the UL prospectus but that basically sugar coats it. Is there any study of medicine and science in it? How many people would be in a class? Is it like psychology? Any further information would be extremely useful. Thank you :)
