San Francisco Internships

I'm completely clueless when it comes to finding internships. I've emailed about 30 to 40 different companies/organisations and nothings coming up with my number on it unfortunatley.

Basically I'm looking for an internship in the planning/environmental sector in the San Francisco region (as close to Berkeley as possible, but I'm willing to travel - public transport, don't have a car) for the summer months.

Does anyone have any contacts or advice on who I should be contacting and the chances of me landing something like this.


Any help much appreciated.

Internship? Does that mean unpaid? What kind of visa does that require?

Internships are paid or unpaid depending on the company. I'm seeking a paid one with the VISA in mind... But it's the experience and CV filler I'm aiming for mostly for future use.

I did an internship in New York last year. January-July. I needed a six month work placement to progresses to my final year of University.

Went through USIT on a J1 Internship visa.

Money isn't the issue. I'll be sharing with friends anyway. Thanks for the links but I've exhausted each of them already with emails and queries....

Maybe this is just something not available? If anyone else has any suggestions, they'd be really appreciated.
