You can download an app called Waygo (on the iPhone at least) which uses your camera to read menus and then it provides a translation. I've used a few times now and it's surprisingly good.

So many tips for M&L went there. Ordered from the standard menu, very good - razor claims with rice noodles were great and generous portions.
My OP was to go ethnic.
    Scoring M&L on that:
    razor clams +1
    shirty service +1
    decent food +1
    exotically different -3

Albeit I was ordering off the main menu which was very much (beef/chicken/lamb/prawn/veg)*(sweet&sour/chili/chil&salty/blackbean/etc...)

btw,my best "ethnic", as in novel stuff, thats weird but nice.
was a Korean place in Parnell St (Ailiang?) a couple years back:

    Potato pancakes with kimchi, mmmmmnnn..fusion...
and a dish that was based on turnip but was actually palatable.
