He is an accomplished keeper. Potentially as good as Mannone. I think he is a rotation risk now, especially if he makes a mistake. If Oscar comes in at 4.0 he is going in my team.

We'll have to wait and see who the number 1 is but rotation is not the way things go with goalkeepers, Poyet will decide who his man is and he will play all league games. Mannone has done well enough recently to ensure he won't be cast aside after making one mistake either. I know absolutely nothing about this new guy but if he's coming to Sunderland with the assurance that he will be number 1 he's gonna be 4.5m at least, if not then he will have to bide his time unless Mannone moves on.

From the stats I'm looking at, he's about as established as Steve Harper was at Newcastle.

    He's played 53 games since 2007. That's not even ten a season.

Where are you getting this high opinion of him from?

His last club, Almeria, didn't even play him once. Mannone has been playing out of his skin. Poyet would be a lunatic to drop him for this fella.

Agreed, no sensible reason to switch keeper at this stage or rotate, the problems to be dealt with are outfield...

Oscar Ustari, used to be a very good buy in earlier versions of Football Manager

Richard Wright probably used to be a good buy back then too....

Chester out for 8 weeks

Looks like Chester to Bruce will have to be my transfer this week to avoid playing Shaw at home to Arsenal. Palace v Hull has 0-0 written all over it.

Ryan bennett maybe? Parr from Palace or chambers from southampton seems to be back in favor. None fill me with the same confidence as chester though.

What date must the January wildcard be used?

Is Sunday 26th Jan too late?

    Do you mean 26th?

You can use it this gameweek or the next.

Yeah I have Chester, not to worry. Will factor him into my plans over the next few weeks, don't want to do anything yet as I only have £3.9m to work with! If I end up downgrading Ozil to Ramsey soon this will free up a lot of funds.

ya.. meant the 26th...FA cup this weekend was was going to wait till that was over...

or do I have an additional week on top of that to use it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,417 ✭✭✭Miguel_Sanchez

I'm thinking Lallana out Cabaye in this week.

Then when Ramsey is back I'm going to bring him in for Cabaye.

It has to be used BEFORE Gameweek 24 starts (1 Feb 11:30). However as the gap from GW23 -> GW 24 is only a matter of days 28th Jan - 1st Feb, I like many used it this week with a 10day gap between gameweeks

    Negredo this morning:

    article-2543860-1ADF21A900000578-321_634x707.jpg

Swapped him for Bony,Swansea at home to a porous Fulham defence and he likes to score at home.I know I left the Negredo transfer a week late but with him being on form I felt he'd get something in his last game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,734 ✭✭✭zarquon

Negredo, Coleman, Chester all injured. A stroke of luck that this all coincides with my wildcard week, especially with Aguero back and looking like a beast again.

Think I'm going to stick with Lukaku until the AVL game... if all he does is get assists until then, I'll probably transfer him out. But the fact of the matter is, his consistency, irregardless of whether people think he should deserve it, he's hitting around 5 per week for some time now.

But Ade is in my sights now.

Lukaku was terrible the other night. Sluggish, bad touch and never looked like scoring. Not sure I can even wait a week. Good news for everyone if I transfer him out, double digit score expected!

Ade is the obvious choice but my main rival has him, and while I never try to play against one team I have a massive 4 figure liability with him so need to build my differentials!

Bony is in my sights after someone posted about him here - cracking fixtures and he looks to have nailed down a spot. Swansea have been destroyed by injuries though and can't seem to score, but their fixtures are juicy and Bony has a proven track record outside the PL.

I brought in Bony based on watching a few of Swansea's games recently. He looks hungry, seemed to be taking a lot of shots and got 2 against City

If he starts to score he will be a great differential

At 7.3m, he would be a very short term differential I feel, but certainly worth a go.

Any news on Coleman lads? I hope if he is injured, its a good 7 or 8 week injury like Chester. I have him since the start and need good justification to lose all that value.

It looks more short term but for FPL sake a long termer would be more interesting, nothing more boring than a player that practically all active players own.

    Apart from me of course;)
Am I the only person on here that has never owned yaya, ramsey or coleman?

Falcao stretched off with a knee injury, I wonder if that will effect the Traore loan transfer

9.4m on FPL. Great player. Still can't actually imagine him playing for Utd though.

I've sold him. Time now for differentials for me. Baines in instead. If I was leading my PL I might have kept him but I had a decent team value and I think Baines will outscore him for remainder of the season.

Most of Twitter saying deal is done with medical today the only formality.

I'm just trying to remember, was Mata on all the free kicks and corners at Chelsea last year?

I'm not sure what to do about bringing him in. I'm in wildcard week but look like I'll have about 1 million of funds left free.

I think I'll leave that sitting and then I can drop someone expensive like Terry if needs be. My plan is to bank my transfer after next GW so I have two to work with. Hoping not to need a transfer straight after playing my WC.

Would Mata be expected to go stright into the utd team if signed? Think carrick got injured last night so may open up space in midfield??

For 37 million he'll be permanently there, it's not even a question!

I'm at a loss with what to do this week...

    Potential transfers out

Ozil (top of my list, but for who??)
Chester (at the bottom of my list)
    J Rod
    Silva -> Yaya

To fund any more moves i need to shift Ozil and free up cash, but im unsure whether to risk Wilshere and jump on the bandwagon, go for a differential and take a punt on Cazorla or just wait a week and bring in Ramsey. I don't see Mata having a major impact right from the get go if he moves to Utd (i could be very wrong of course but if last nights game is anything to go by Mata isnt going to solve many problems) so he will be kept on the watchlist for now.

If im not going to move Ozil out i guess i may as well just use the transfer to get rid of Chester while i can? If i do decide to move Ozil out i'm without any Arsenal attacking players which i don't like as they are consistently banging goals in every week with Ozil just hitting a slump recently.

    Thoughts anyone?

I would fancy my chances of going straight into the side. Assuming he's fit, he plays IMO.
And he plays most Prem games... No domestic cups and can't play in CL.

He was on them most of the time(indirect free kicks) but United are well served in that regard with Rooney and Januzaj this year.

Chester gone till march, any suggested replacements at same price. Although looks like could afford to hold on to, as slow to fall, and only a second fall would affect my profits/team value.

Also looking at Coleman, but had him so long, I'm reluctant, no updates on his injury, but any fall will affect my profits and value.

Chester -> bruce is a like for like hull defender. Straightforward and sensible transfer IMO if you already have some palace coverage otherwise Ward might be a good move.

That's my point though. This would effect his returns. I can't see Rooney giving up free kicks and all the corners.

Whatever about corners, if he was taken off free kicks Moyes would have Hodgson on him like a ton of bricks.

I'm picturing a scene reminiscent of Keane and Viera in the tunnel only the participants are Roy and Moyesey. I'd love to see what he looks like coming down like a ton of bricks on someone:pac:.

IF Mata does sign it will be the first time in a few seasons United will have a fantasy football midfielder worth having ! Januzaj has been decent for a cheap midfielder this year but only just. Exciting times :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 415 ✭✭TaytoCrisps

I have Silva, hazard, lallana,Ramsey and januzaj at present. could do silva to mata straight swap or a 4 point hit for lallana and ramsey out for a 5.3mil midfielder plus mata... already have aguero so have city attacking over.

Cant afford a price rise for silva-mata

Coleman and chester injured for defenders but had 3 fit ones so that can wait a week . rather make an attacking transfer :)

What do you guys think about swapping Ozil out for Cazorla? Already have Hazard, Silva, Eriksen and Januzaj in the midfield.

Cazorla is on my radar but I'll probably end up getting Mata
