There has been some shocking performances from some players out there today, but Rodgers has to take responsibility, terrible team and formation picked. There is no Premiership team that could not cut this team open.

Gerrard and coutinho have been shocking. Id get lucas and allen on tho we need goals and allen and lucas arent exactly prolific.

Johnson has also once again been **** but that can be said for the whole back line.

Henderson has been our best player.

Either Sterling or Couthino off and bring Allen on. If we win the second balls and keep the ball on the ground we can get at Villa's defence but at the moment we are playing into their hands.

He should have changed it after 10-15 minutes but he doesn't tend to make many substitutions. Think Liverpool have made the least amount of substitutions of anyone in the league.

They were still wary of our threat up front (clearly with good reason) but up until the 47th minute they were cruising along with a two goal lead and had conceded maybe 1 shot on target.

Coutinho's wastefulness should really be addressed. Long shots? Why? Only a small percentage of long shots go in, an even smaller percentage from someone as prolific as him.

With Suarez and Sturridge, there'll always be a better option, perhaps not immediately, but by holding it up or looking for someone else. The goal was a good example of this, Suarez had the opportunity to shoot from range, and unselfishly didn't shoot,tried to create a better opportunity and was rewarded.

With Coutinho, Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling, there's enough there to play the ball around in the final third and wait for a break. It's often a criticism of Arsenal how they do that, but it's certainly a better option when you look at the success rate of pretty much all in the squad bar Suarez this season from range
