Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Again a wasted opportunity from a long range shot by a player poor at shooting from range

99% of fouls involve the fouled player exaggerating contact and going down to the floor when they could very clearly stay on their feet.

There was contact. That's enough. Literally no striker on the planet stays on their feet in that position.

If it happens outside the box or to another player nothing is said about it.

    You sir, are nuts lol

He grabbed his hand and pulled it around his back. Or did you miss that ?

I can't imagine many fans would be upset if their player went down like that in such a crucial situation.

There is quite a bit of double standards in this thread.

And now the false equivalency and victimization starts.

Only a matter of time before the Suarez is foreign, that's why all these racist people pick on him card comes out

Who mentioned Hillsborough? I'm talking about the fact that it's always someone else's fault when Suarez cheats or does something naughty. Racist abuse? The black guy's fault. Dives for a penalty? The keeper's fault

Reads like the "always the victim" line to me which is a definite Hillsborough reference. Apologies if not.
Still feel you're ott with Suarez comments.

I wonder when the referees will actually catch up with Liverpool's recent antics - dives against Villa/Stoke and skrtel hauling players off the ball at corners and free kicks...

This one still amazes me - just because it wasn't highlighted for you in a little box in the bottom corner doesn't make it new, and also doesn't mean he's the only one who does it. Defenders all over the league do it every game, most of them just don't have their own personal camera telling you what your opinion should be.

I would be. I absolutely hate seeing Villa players diving, and based on the villa thread, so do most of the villa fans on here. Players are always berated for it when they do it. Young, when at villa, got a huge amount of flak from villa fans for going to ground. And villa don't have the only fans who don't want it in the game. But then, when it's won you a CL final, sure why wouldn't you have no problem with it

It was a dive. Congrats for spotting it.

Looking forward to your analysis for when he is fouled in the box but not awarded a penalty.

It was a dive but also stupid from Guzan. It doesn't make surez the worst cheat ever. I'd expect most strikers to do the same

That's not what I mean - outrage by all means, but its the moral outrage which I find amazing, the vitriolic hatred within the comments. I'll be gutted if pool concede a pen to a dive, but I won't go on calling that player the scum of the earth etc.

He lost his balance when travelling at pace and/or it was the other players fault for putting him in that position.

Some supporters are actually hilarious with their application of the rules with regards their own teams. But then again some others prefer a higher standard of accountability. Winning badly ... well whats the point really. Id rather go find something else to do.

Villa are definitely in a relegation battle, the only reason they are 5 points clear of relegation is due to fluke wins against the likes of Southampton. When off form they have been the worst team in the league comfortably and with a tough run of games ahead they could well be in the relegation zone by March.
